Ok Fung, NOW this is beginning to sound fishy - even smell it.
How does a guy with $100k being just a small part of a buyout consider $26k/yr. a "decent wage"?
ok then...sheesh...maybe because i've been playing music for years and years for like $300-400/
month and enjoyed every friggin second of it...the idea of making $500/
week doing something that is that much pure fun seems like a "decent wage"
relatively, although in absolute terms it is living at the poverty level...
hell i often tell our audience (jokenly) i would PAY THEM for the amount of fun i have on stage doing my thing...
for you guys "smelling fish"...perhaps you could navigate to my (Dead link: http://www.headshotrocks.com) _current bands website_ and listen to my guitar playing on some of the demo songs. my solos in "Crazy Bitch" and our remake of Lionel Richie's "Hello" adequately capture a portion of my talent...
(Dead link: http://www.headshotrocks.com) ... also be aware that i did all the engineering and producing on those demos in my home studio, so that is also a marketable talent.
...i know I KNOW already..the singing on those demos is substandard and nowhere near good enough to "make it" in a city like Vegas...its the guitar playing that is being recognized
i think all this is beside the point anyway...i've discovered that my needs can met with a MUCH smaller income then i make today, AS LONG AS IM DOING SOMETHING THAT I TRULY ENJOY DOING. doesn't everyone, deep down, feel that way?
i want to thank all you guys for all the fantastic input that you have giving me...you have made me reconsider my entire approach to be honest. for that i am truly grateful, and i look forward to lurking around the forums here, blogging about my adventure as it unfolds...
regards,
