11 vs A; double down or hit?

Most basic strategy says to hit 11 vs A, but I think I've read somewhere that you should double down for the following game; is this true?

- 6 decks
- dealer hits on soft 17
- no hole card (lose only original bets on dealer blackjack)

I'm not familar with the no hole card game but in regular BJ,you hit 11vsA in the game you describe. In single deck,you would double down,not in multi-deck.
