6 to 5 for a Blackjack: Basic Strategy Chart?

I have seen people doubling down (at the single deck) on their Blackjack againest a dealers up card of an 5 or 6 since the BJ only pays 6:5

Has anyone found a 6 to 5 Blackjack Basic Strategy Chart that you could give me a link to or post:

Single deck with BJ paying 6 to 5
Split any 2 first cards and you can double on them
Dealer hits soft 17
No surrender

Nothing at wizardofodds and their "Blackjack Basic Strategy Calculator"

or do you just use the same strategy as Blackjack 3:2 ?

Basic Strategy for 6:5: Don't play it under any set of circumstances!
Good advice. 6:5 only changes the payout on blackjack not basic strategy. It would change only your betting decisions.

As far as I'm aware there is still no index for doubling you blackjack against any dealer upcard. Even with the reduced payout on BJ, it is still a guaranteed win.

This is the best analysis I've seen to date of 6-5 SD. Although as mentioned above, most people here wouldn't play it.

For those who are curious, these folks are really hurting themselves. The actual expected values for doubling on black jack, given the posted rules, are below:

vs 2: 0.50 x the original bet
vs 3: 0.55 x the original bet
vs 4: 0.61 x the original bet
vs 5: 0.68 x the original bet
vs 6: 0.70 x the original bet
vs 7: 0.45 x the original bet
vs 8: 0.31 x the original bet
vs 9: 0.19 x the original bet
vs T: 0.11 x the original bet
vs A: 0.17 x the original bet

These are all much worse than the already-pathetic 1.20 (6/5) being offered.

Here's my bet ramp for 6:5 blackjack:

  • TC <-1: 0 units
  • TC -1: 0 units
  • TC 0: 0 units
  • TC 1: 0 units
  • TC 2: 0 units
  • TC >2: 0 units

Is that before or after the side count adjustment?

I was surprised to find a 8 deck 6:5 the only game available at NYNY on a Sunday morning when looking for a 6 deck H17 LS listed in CBJN.

My basic strategy: find the door.

Why play 6:5 when you could play with 2 plus decks and get 3:2?
The Stragedy does not change by the way if you do play it.

In this case I agree: Playing 6:5 is a stragedy!
