With a .77% house edge I would wait until at least +2 to jump in. Maybe even +3 if you are using a small spread.

If this is the CNE, then that's an 8D game.
TC of at least 2 is needed. Each TC is work +.5%.
TC 0 = -0.77%
TC 1 = -0.27%
TC 2 = +0.23%
Min $5, MAX $25. Just wong in at +2, lay down the green chip. It's hand shuffled, so if you can track, do so. Take advantage of any and all dealer errors that you can. Don't worry about heat, there is none.

English No Hole Card. The dealer doesn't take a hole card until after the players are done playing their hands.

When calculating your advantage at various elevated counts, don't forget to factor in the little bit extra gleaned from your index plays at each T/C. For the shoe game, it should reach about an extra 0.20% at +5 T/C.
So with a starting disadvantage of 0.50% at "0" T/C, you should actually reach roughly +2.20% at +5 T/C.
Mileage will vary with system strength.

It's the only game available at the CNE (basically, a state-fair thing in Toronto. They set up a casino in one of the larger convention halls).
Anyone good at abusing dealers (except holecarding) should make out like a bandit.
They are aiming only at transient traffic-- folks at the fair who walk by and play a bit. They don't need to offer a good game. Bleh. From Toronto, the nearest playable blackjack game is the Falls, ~1.5 hours (or 1 hour for maniacs)
