A look at Down Town LV

I have spent a small amount of time playing the games Down Town in LV so I would like to see if I'm missing anything in my evaluation of the area.

1) El Cortez- The best game Down Town (and they know it)
2) The D - Trash
3) Fremont- Trash
4) 4 Queen's - Unplayable
5) Binion's - Unplayable
6) Golden Nugget- Practically unplayable due to there only being two tables open in HL which are hawked
7) Golden Gate- Trash
The missing casinos here I have not played so a report of the conditions would be appreciated. I believe I'm missing Plaza, California, and Down Town Grand.
The conditions Down Town are depressingly bad from what I've seen. During my trip(s) to Vegas I just avoid Down Town because extracting money from that area is like trying to draw blood from stone, it's not easy.

I got backed off at the DTG last November spreading $15-$125 at double deck. Meanwhile I was spreading $25-200 at the Golden Nugget no problem that trip, probably played about twice as many hours at GN compared to DTG.

Generally agree with the rest of your assessment, except I think The D could maybe be playable, if a bit noisy.

Pen at the D has been horrible for my last few trips (most recent was Feb). 2/8 cut, no surrender if I remember correctly.

GN was quite tolerant of a fairly large spread, but I kept my sessions short (and lost!)

nugget had 5 double deck tables on the main floor for a few years but that was down to 2 at the end of last year and from what i've been reading is now 0

No offense but how can you call El Cortez "the best game downtown", when they only deal 1 round on the single deck games, no matter HOW many players and they hawk the DD games like German prison guards at a concentration camp during WWII? LOL

Agree with MJGolf - the Spaniard upped their minimums and only deal two rounds. Not like it was 6 or so months ago. I would say Plaza, DTG and GN for DD play. Be warned about DTG and back offs. I can't comment on Plaza and their heat level. (fyi, you can't double after split in the DD games at the GN, only in the HL area can you DAS.

If the reports above are correct there are no 3:2 games on main floor at GN anymore.

Because she has an arrangement with them to film and show her play. I wrote her one time and she confirmed. She knows management.

She's also a huge ploppie and gets a lot of free money from idiots sending it to her through Patreon and other means. Not to mention any revenue from YouTube as well.

But you gotta admit she is kinda cute even if she doesn't know how to play BJ well. She is better than her first videos..............she at least uses Basic most of the time now, though she almost ALWAYS plays the side bets.

I'd be very surprised if she was making anything more than a pittance from youtube. Her view counts are really not very high.

Betting like that at El Cortez, they love that.

Update Sweaty Spaniard conditions and Downtown generally.................they actually have gone back to their better game conditions. They squeeze people into the table now since they have plexiglass dividers for each playing position. Back to rule of 6 for the single deck. And for once didn't seem as hawked as usual. But I just played for an hour+ or so at two single deck tables. They didn't ask for my players card. One proviso, I have NEVER seen a place where everyone plays the side bets as much as this place. It's both slowing the game down and I guess limits BJ play but just thought I would let you guys know. Played Wed middle of week and middle of afternoon. The Circa has a lot of people there for mid-week as the "new girl in town" but their rules are nothing to write home about. They do not have double deck games on the floor other than high limit room, which is upstairs from main gambling level and quite a walk.. But 3-2 BJ seen there and other places Downtown. Which is getting rarer and rarer on the Strip.
