A question about hotels

#1
I have been spending a lot of time on Expedia planning my dream vacation to vegas (even though it's just a dream for now XD) and I saw noticed that I could stay in Vegas for aa whole 8 nights for only ABOUT $320 if I split the bill with a friend and my friend flew in on a different flight. The catch is that my friend would have to share the hotel room with me without actually having booked it with me. I wonder if the hotel would notice or care. Thanks!

Hotel probably won't notice or care. Most room rates are rated for two people anyway.

I don't want to burst your bubble... but $640 ($320 for each person right?) for 8 nights still seems fairly low, assuming you're staying on strip. You said you looked at rates on Expedia. Did you factor in resort fees? I can only think of 3 or 4 casinos that do not charge resort fees, and those casino hotels are downtown. If you plan on staying at a major strip property, get ready to spend $30+ per night on resort fees. The fees should be be listed on Expedia's web site, but it's usually semi-hidden in the fine print. So let's say Exalibur charges $80/night for 8 nights, that would be $640. But if you include the resort fee, then your rate would actually $110/night. The hotel will collect the resort fees from you at the end of your stay. Just and FYI in case you over-looked that detail.

Assuming you found a fantastic deal and you already factored in the resort fees, then feel free to completely disregard this entire post. :)

Why are you staying in hotels if you are trying to save money? You can find an extended stay place in vegas for 200 a week, no credit check, and if you split it with a friend youd only pay 100 and those come fully furnished as well.

Where do I find these rooms?

Yeah, some hotels in downtown don't charge a resort fee and if they do they can be waved sometimes if you talk to the hotel and tell them you're not going to be using the wifi or pool and all their other resort amenities. I wouldn't want to stay on the strip anyways, I might start having PTSD flashbacks LOL but seriously, the strip has terrible rules in comparison to downtown, unless you're playing some larger stakes.
