What time was it? In Borgata on a weekend night like 9 pm , I have seen 3 BJ 10$ tables empty.Thunder said:Imagine my shock when I saw last night at one joint, one empty $10 table and another one with only 1 player at it. I can never remember that ever happening before on a weekend night.

I heard the Borgata laid off 200 people.aslan said:The Borgata actually closes it's newest hotel, The Water Club, Monday thru Thursday, because they don't have the business. Also, they make the casino seem more crowded than it is by closing down so many tables, whereby open pits are crowded. But I never found it difficult to find a $10 table at any time day or night Thursday of last week, so even the attempted condensing of pit play did not work. They are the most popular of all the AC casinos and they are clearly hurting.
That does not surprise me. I even got a parking space on the first level not far from the door. The surrounding states and the economy are taking their toll.Thunder said:I heard the Borgata laid off 200 people.
Is the midwest area just due to the economic downturn, CP or is there some expansion going on there as well?creeping panther said:The Midwest casinos are hurting also.
But that can be a very good thing for us, I have seen some real cool things lately.
CP

Ditto that. How bad is the business? Bad... without much of patrons... so much so ... Bally's, a property of the Evil EmpireThunder said:AC is really hurting. Only rookies park in the garage, everybody knows there's way better parking in the outside lot, and that they sometimes leave the gate open cause all the poker players park in the ouside lot and they all have blackcards and get free parking so they just don't put an attendant there.aslan said:That does not surprise me. What do you consider better parking? Closer to the poker room? Where you get to walk in the rain? Where you get to scrape the ice off your windshield? Where you get to brush the snow off your car before you can drive off? Where you have to drag your suitcases down steps to get to your car? Really, Ferret, I don't know how you came up with that one? Actually, the best is probably Valet -- let someone else fetch your car. But as I like to visit my car from time to time to get things stored there (nothing of value), I prefer self parking in the garage.Ferretnparrot said:Only rookies park in the garage, everybody knows there's way better parking in the outside lot, and that they sometimes leave the gate open cause all the poker players park in the ouside lot and they all have blackcards and get free parking so they just don't put an attendant there.
I prefer the outdoor lots at the stores at the ends of the Boardwalk. Last time in the Caesar's garage somebody used my car as a urinal (like they often use the whole garage as a urinal) and the time spent driving around in the garage and finding a spot isn't welcome.aslan said:What do you consider better parking? We were talking about the Borgata.Automatic Monkey said:I prefer the outdoor lots at the stores at the ends of the Boardwalk. Pennsylvania added tables. Ohio is building casinos.kewljason said:Is the midwest area just due to the economic downturn, CP or is there some expansion going on there as well?![]()
