The Wizard of Odds has a nice section dedicated to card removal in BJ and its effect on the odds.

But I'm interested if someone knows, or has a link to the effect of additional cards added.
 
I am pretty sure it is the exact mirror of their EOR. That is the basis for making a counting system. The value of surplus or deficit of each card in general and the value of each individual card for specific hand match ups if you want to multiply your edge by turning losing hands into winning hands and having more double and split opportunities while getting rid of some that were actually losing moves but the limited information without the side count incorrectly flagged as a profitable move.
 
Yes, if you approximate the game linearly (as counting systems do), you can use just the opposite sign of card removal tables. The approximation will be valid as long as the number of cards you add is considerably smaller than the total number of cards of the original deck.

There's a way to experiment for an answer.

Go to my website program http://www.bjstrat.net/cgi-bin/cdca_web.exe

Input some number of decks greater than 1 and remove some ranks but not others.

For example I computed the effect of adding 4 fives to a single deck by inputting 2 decks and removing 4 (2,3,4,6,7,8,9,A) and 16 tens. The resulting composition is 4,4,4,8,4,4,4,4,16,4 (2-A). This is a single deck with 4 fives added. When 'Compute' is clicked with nothing else input the overall EV for this composition and default rules for the program is computed. Using best strategy the EV for adding 4 fives to a single deck is -2.539% as compared to a standard full single deck EV using best strategy = +.0248%.

The range of decks you can input is 1 to 41,297,762 so you can do a lot of experimenting. :) There's a Help link to explain basically how the program works.
 
I wonder how hard it would be to slip an extra ten tens into the discard rack sitting at third base. Like a cooler, it would only require a little diversion and cover, especially from the cameras. Hey, I'm not a cheat... just musing.

Scenario: Somebody drops a white Russian right on the felt. Everyone at the table jumps up and back. Third base jumps up, coat he is clutching in one hand covers the discard rack for a second as the new cards go in.

Got it on apparently very good authority (;)) a very similar thing has already been done, and more brazenly. The whole shoe was replaced :grin:

Oh, yes, I know. The infamous cooler. And when the lights came back on, the players began to win hand after hand.... Why do you think that so many houses have a chain attached to the shoe? Hint: It's not because they are afraid someone will run off with it and they won't have a shoe to deal from. :laugh:
