I'm sure it must be my name, and not my picture...
Is that actually your pic? You should give up Blackjack and become a super model. You're gorgeous!

Okay, I got a little carried away. You don't really have to give up Blackjack. Dual careers are nice too! ;)

Millions I tell Ya!

I woke up this morning to the TV left on running during the night and what was on when I woke up? An infomercial where two hot babes intro the official whizbang of selling his system of making bazillions on the internet, his series of books and then the typical array of testimonials from people talking about how "There I was... a total dummy... so nonfunctional that I could barely wipe my own anus and was making $7.00 an hour at my pathetic job that sucked. Then I got the whizbang internet system and it's so easy! I now make $187,000 a week and hang out with hot babes in posh resorts like Mr. Whizbang!"

Let's say I have a little secret and I REALLY DO have a tried and proven system that I make a juicy sum on. The LAST thing that I would do is to jeopardize it all by telling the whole damn world about it in detail!

Read what Arnold Snyder says about someone selling systems. Basic counting skills? You can pick that up from a book or two and from hanging out in places like this for a while for FREE. With any course, there is no dumping instantaneous knowledge into someone's brain that will make them successful with any true guarantees, it's a matter of study and aptitude. A course is no guarantee of anything except that you will pay some $.

We have our resident Australians on this site and what I have heard about blackjack in Australia is NOT GOOD. The only place you might have any sort of decent game is on a high limit table from what I hear. There is no such thing as counting or beating a CSM! A $10 min bet will get you a seat at a CSM table in Australia from what I hear and that's about it... am I wrong? Katweezel?

I don't know of any $5-$10 minimum betters ANYWHERE that are full time players or that make any reasonable and consistent income. Any low stakes "professionals" on this site? Am I wrong?

I would not call myself a professional ever but I have been counting cards part time since 1989 with limited success.

Australia used to have excellent conditions ie less decks, no heat and spread 1-50 without problems until a certain Andrew came along and started making appearances on prime time TV. Since then it has been all downhill with CSM's everywhere.

To my knowledge Andrew Scott is probably the only counter to have ever been banned from playing blackjack here- just to give you some idea of how little heat there is in Australia. Hundreds of counters are allowed to ply their trade/hobby?? with no fuss.

The problem is most of them do not have the bankroll to beat the house and I see them get wiped out due to overbetting. Its common to see someone play for hours waiting for a high TC only to lose their bankroll with a few big bets/doubles.

You can get shoe games in Australia but they are in the VIP rooms of casinos. To get a VIP card you must buy in for typically 5000 AUD - 10,000 AUD. Adelaide and Brisbane have 25 minimum shoe games.

One of the better VIP rooms is the Mahogany room at Crown Casino in Melbourne. It would have 20 BJ tables but they are all 50 or 100 minimum. Within the Mahogany room is another invitational only room where there are 2 tables a 200 minimum and 300 minimum.

You can do whatever you like here with 10 grand bets and the pit crew will hardly raise an eyebrow. I have seen 100K on the layout including splits and doubles and the dealer paid them out fast like it was a 10 dollar table.

An 8 deck shoe with no surrender and double 9,10,11 is not the easiest to beat but I have seen it done. You just have to be very patient and have a hundred grand cash to start with (preferably 200K-500K).

I wouldnt waste much time on it in Australia. If you have that kind of money and good counting skills a better proposition would be to fly somewhere else with more favourable rules.

Everyone I know who has the bankroll, skills and experience to play BJ (well enough to beat the house) has no inclincation to. They put their time and energy into business enterprises and play in poker tournaments instead.

That's my take on things.

I have done a little modeling. I didn't really like it, although being on stage was exciting. Anyway, I think the odds of success are better in blackjack! :)
