Atlantic City Trip

#1
Hi All,

I stumbled across these forums a while ago while trying to learn BS. I have a trip to Atlantic City coming up next weekend with my family. My aunt was comped some free rooms at Resorts. I know Resorts is not really at great place to play blackjack (or any game for that matter) so I am trying to determine where I should spend my time playing.

I have some moderate counting ability. I have been successful on a few outings to Delaware Park (6D, S17, DAS by the escalators) and would like to identify some locations for reasonable low limit games. I would like to find a S17, 6 deck, but I understand that may be difficult to come by on the weekend. Mathematically speaking, I believe a 8 deck S17 is better for counting that 6d h17 (please correct me if I am wrong). Therefore I really am trying to identify casinos that have s17 at low limits.

From reading through other threads, it was mentioned that Borgata and Trump Plaza have S17. Are these during the weekends as well? Special hours (afternoon, 9am, etc.)?

Since Trump Plaza is stay 17 (based on what I have read, please correct me if I am wrong), are the other Trump casinos also S17?

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could point me to a S17, 6 decker near resorts (if it exists).

Wish me luck.

But both places have sharp pit bosses and start of the art counter catch software. If you spread 1 to 5, they will come watching you. And it only takes 10 minutes to identify if you are an Advantage Player. If yes, the surveillance camera will take and store your image into computer, next time you enter the front door, the camera installed above the door and facial recognition software will identify you and send the instant alert to BJ pit. Once your winnings pass the very small threshold, they will tell you not to play Blackjack. If you have a unlucky day, you will let you keep playing.

Yeah they are pretty sweaty, especially at Resorts. I guess I would be too if I was behind in my mortgage payments. I was down over 1k and they still watched me like a hawk and shuffled up on me before I called it quits one evening.

But I would have to disagree with you on the quality of games. Last time I was in AC, about 3 months ago, Resorts had the best game with the best penetration. $25 6 deck S17, and you could jump in and out. This is the best game I have seen in AC. And since nobody frequents this dump you can often get your own table. If you can somehow avoid the heat its a gold mine.

You can forget the Harrah's properties cause all their games suck.

The Plaza 6 deck games are also good, but $25 min as well and the penetration is much worse than Resorts.

Your not going to find a "low limit" S17 table in AC anymore cause they are "a bunch of money whores."

What are you talking about? AC will let you spread 1-5 forever. 1-5 barely flips many of AC games to the players advantage. I have been spreading 1-12, 1-16 in AC for years and have received minimal heat. (half shoed one time) And they will never 'tell you not to play blackjack'! It's against the law. They may take other measures but they can't tell you not to play. Where did you get that info about recognition software spotting you as you walk thru the door?

As for the posters question. Borgata is the place if you want low limit s17. But they are now all 8 decks. 6 decks are $25 and up. Resorts and Taj both still have decent s17 games but both are at $25 and up.

Just back count and wong in at +2 or better, or wong out at -2, that is the key to success then you can eventually turn pro and enjoy the good life in resort locations around the US, it is that simple,,,,don't even need a big spread.

Whoops, moderate counting ability,,,work on that, get to satisfactory,,,,should work:laugh::) Forget about any advanced techniques,,,not really needed.;)

O Yeah,,make sure you play perfect basic strategy, learn some positive indice plays for your count, forget the negative ones as you will not be playing negative,,

As far as the games in AC,,6D, 8D, h-17, s-17,,,it's all good , just follow the above suggestions.

My best.

Actually resorts is probibly the best game in town, but that games is only 2 tables being the 6 deck 25/tables that allow midshoe entry, they periodically put up and take down the no-midshoe sign, usually at player request.

Basically, in AC your looking for s17, because all the games save a few tables are 8 decks with the same penetration.

Things have been changing a lot in ac, but as of a few weeks ago, Trump plaza, resorts, borgata, and I want to say the hilton, are still s17.

Dont forget the value of the lucky ladies tables found at the harrahs properties, though the tables are s17.

Ferret, there are numerous errors in your report. The tables at all Harrah's properties excluding the high roller rooms are H17. Same for Hilton. Only Trump Plaza and the Borgata are all or mostly are S17. Resorts has maybe 3 tables that are S17 and the rest are H17.

I wouldnt waste my time on Harrah's properties unless you're going to exploit lucky ladies. Last time i was there, i went to the Tropicana and was s17 mix tables of 6 and 8 deck and they cut the 6 deck off at 2.5 and the 8 deck at 2. I'm pretty sure high Limit was no mid shoe entry but i could be mistaken. Oh and Resorts had a mix of S17 and H17 tables so make sure you know what you're playing because they were right next to each other.
