It's looking more and more like I might be in Arizona and New Mexico next month, and if I have time, I'd like to check out some of the casinos. I did a quick search and didn't find much current info. Does anyone have any reasonably up-to-date info on this region? I'm looking for any kind of game under the sun, from one end of the spectrum to the other. Counting, tracking, carnival games, machines, promotions, etc. Whatever is profitable. Based on a quick review of CBJN, it looks like Phoenix and Albuquerque are probably the best bets for finding places that will take action. Are the games there any good? Are there other games elsewhere with less heat and/or bigger edges? As always, PMs are welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

OK I had the title in all caps, "AZ/NM", but it didn't show up that way. Is that some annoying forum feature "helping" me out by changing it to "Az/nm"?

I Agree, about the hard rock. Sandia is very flashy, but last I went it was a little sweaty. I don't think they know what they're doing, cuz I got a check play going 1-3 on a shoe game.

I agree too on Hard Rock; DD is $10 min S17 DOA DAS no re-splits pen dealer dependent tho usually 50-60%. 6D $3/5 min S17 DOA DAS RSA LS pen 65-80%. You also might want to check Route 66 casino, exit 140 on I40. DD $5/10 min S17 DOA NDAS can re-split all but aces 50-60% pen. 6D $5 min S17 DOA DAS RSA LS 75-83% pen. Also has SD but it's 6/5 bj so why bother. Side note- at Hard Rock they have 6/5 bj at some DD/6D tables, be sure to check the felt before playing

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm still debating the route for my upcoming trip, so this info may help me figure out exactly where I'm going. It's much appreciated. Hopefully things cool off some by the time I make it out there!

Define "big bettor" in Albuquerque & Santa Fe

How much green action is there in Albuquerque and Santa Fe?

Do $200 bets constitute a routine occurrence on evenings and weekends?

I have business in the area, so I'm thinking of rearranging the travel schedule to allow for 15-20 hours of play, but if $200 bets make one a whale in Albuquerque, then I won't even bother playing.

I checked out Buffalo Thunder once on a weekday, and it was mostly homies giving up their money in $10-$20 increments.

for Friendo- it's hard to say; at the Hardrock DD table I've seen quite a wide range of bets, from the $10 min to $400. They do call out checks play at $100. Sometimes the PC pay attention and other times seem they could care less. (Not much of an answer I know.) Pen will vary by dealer, from 50% to 75%.
