Bankroll Question...

If I have a 20k bankroll to play with, what do you think my min bet should be? I always play two hands and recently have been playing $50 min bets but I am rethinking this because I am using an insufficient spread. I dont want to go lower than $25 min bet, but is my RoR too high with that min?

Short answer is yes. You are running at too high a ROR if you are playing on a non-replenshiable bankroll.
Of course their are many other things to factor in. I would much rather play at10 tables. That way you are running at a much safer ROR..

Even with 25 min and assuming PA rules (since you are East Coast) you are at > 10% ROR with any reasonable spread.

Really..that high?? Do you know the actual RoR for the $25 tables and the $50 tables?

You need to post your spread, rules and penetration to get accurate ROR.
I like to spread 1-10, my rules are 6 decks, DAS, LS, unlimited splits, No resplit aces, DOA. Penetration ranges from 67%-80%

See BJAIII

Consult Blackjack Attack III; specifically, the charts for your game which give spread for full Kelly play on a $10,000 bankroll.

Look at the backcount segment of the charts - the lower half, IIRC -and divide SCORE by 10 to get your expected hourly rate, for Wonging in at TC=2 and Wonging right back out below that point, and figure on a spread of $10-$30 or $10-$40.

You'll need to find a $5 or $1 mininum table if you have some bad variance, because you'll need to re-size bets downward to $9-$27, then $8-$24, and so on, to preserve your already tight Kelly ratio.

If memory serves, strict and disciplined back-counting will get you between $1.60 and $3.20 an hour under this bankroll, assuming you can find a casino which will let you do this hour after hour.

D'oh! I apologize for the non-sequitur.

I am in a fog. I thought I was in the $1K bankroll thread.

I'll leave my post there as a warning to children about drunken posting. You can multiply my numbers by 25 or 30 if you feel so inclined, and ignore the remarks about bet resizing.

If I had a 1k BR, I would just play penny slots and see what happens

For play all 75% pen and S17 your ror is 11.4% if you use the sweet 16 and fab 4.

Please define RoR.
RoR is risk of ruin. It is the probability of losing enough money to the point which continuing is no longer considered an option to make your money back.
Risk of Ruin = e^(-2 x Win Rate x Bank÷ (Std*Std))
