Bankroll Size Questions

Yes, I am requesting advice again.

Specifically, I have an upcoming trip to Macau. I will be gambling at the Wynn (irrespective of where I stay) where the house edge is a merciful 0.1%

I will have a bankroll of 10000 HKD, the Wynn table minimums are (at least when I was there last year) 100HKD meaning my bankroll is 100 units in size.

Now, I do have the option of playing at 200HKD, giving me a 50 unit bankroll.

The trip is 2 weeks long, but I won't be gambling every day (I'll be gambling during the midweek). Additionally, the hotel I am booked into is down on Cotai, reasonably far away from the Wynn. So I probably will get there less often than I wish. If someone at either the Wynn or MGM Grand cancels, then I'll be staying either at the Wynn or across the road from it.

Since it is a two-week trip I will tend to be a bit risk averse, at least for the first week or so. Also, more time at table = more free drinks.

So, should I stick with the 100HKD table minimums (at least for my first week or so)? Given my premiums on free drinks, time at the table and fact that I may or may not be staying in close proximity to the casino, what would other members recommend?

If your just looking for free drinks stick to the table min.
I don't know anything about you, but are you suggesting you are going to be counting and drinking at the same time? Not a great idea, at least not if your serious about making money.

I will not be card counting, simply sticking with perfect BS.

Additionally, the Wynn Macau uses a CSM+Discard Tray which basically makes it a shoe game with 1 deck penentration. This makes card counting pretty much pointless. Whilst there will occasionally be a true count of +1 (and indeed, the Wynn is the only place in Macau where this can happen), it would require a pretty big spread to beat.

Possibly if a counter bet 100HKD when the count was -ve, 200 when neutral and 300 when +ve, they could successfully overcome the house edge... but with a house edge of 0.1%, plus having to go sober, I wouldn't see any point.

Well keep your bets as small as possible whilst high enough to keep the drinks flowing - i'd imagine you could still get drinks while playing table min...

I have experienced this to be true as well. So I shall play at table mins during midweek, when the Wynn is quiet and suave and I can get plastered in a classy, relaxed environment.

Sit at first base..listen carefully. The one2six talks. :eyepatch: BTW.. most places I've seen use 4 decks in the CSM.. (Cost them less to swap cards.)
Bank Roll?.. if your counting.. I would have at least 40 max bets as a trip roll. But playing BS and min bets I would think 50 units would be enough for some fun.

True, but for a two-week trip (which will undoubtedly involve long gambling sessions) I think I'll be cautious and stick to 100HKD mins with 100 units. Maybe during the second week I'll up my bets. I wouldn't want to get wiped out early.

No free drinks, mate.
Enjoy your game with flat betting and at a crowd table. That way you will lose less money.
Also don't have to use the taxi from Cotai to the Wynn which will set you back about HK$100 each time. Use your hotel shuttle to the port terminal and transfer to the Wynn shuttle.
Since you are staying for 2 weeks you want to get the best hotel deal. When I was there about 3 months ago the Grand Waldo has the best deal at A$100 per night with breakfast, etc.
If I remember correctly with a members card playing HK$100 BJ for about 4 hours will get you 30 points which will entitle you to a buffet dinner.
