Barred for Martingale betting?

#1
So far I've been very successful with the Martingale system... up about $10k in the past year and I play about once every other month. I don't count cards, I just play Martingale with perfect (well near-perfect) BS. I know Martingale is known to be a losing system in the long run. At times I have been down more than $5k and they definitely notice that. But of course I always make a comeback. Do Vegas and the California Indian casinos even care about someone like me winning?? Or will they just let me keep winning under the false hope that someday I'll go crazy and lose my entire bankroll?

Your post belongs in the voo-doo section.
Casinos have seen the Martingale system millions of times and they will treat you very well, comp you, give you nice rooms and meals. The false hope is yours! You will lose, you have too and the casinos know it.

Ever lost 10 hands in a row, ever lost 20? In 24 hours of blackjack you should have one 10 consecutive hand losing streak on the average. In over 30 years of playing perhaps 400 hours or more a year, I have had 4 streaks of consecutive losses of over TWENTY HANDS. If you wish to count doubles and splits as more than one hand, one of those streaks hit 30. Now take your minimum bet and get a calculator and tell us how much you need to bet inorder to win a minimum bet on your 21st hand, where you can find a casino that will accept a bet that big and how you happen to have the resources to bet that big.
Casinos have seen it all before, and just like you, they have no idea if that streak will hit you now or sometime later, but the math and the history proves it will happen and they hope it happens while you are at their table.

How many times have people posted on this board regarding card counting subjects without the threat of being moved to the voodoo section?

The thing is, you don't have to go crazy to lose the bankroll, you'd just need an extended losing streak, which is very possible. Heck, I lost eight in a row this weekend as soon as I sat down at the table!.

Also, blackjack wouldn't seem to be the best bet for a martingale, due to splits and doubles. What about craps or baccarat?

Won't you? That is, lose your entire BR someday? Do you have a limit that you haven't reached yet? You said you were once down $5,000. That's a lot, depending on your base betting amount.

To answer your question: no, they will never ban you for martingale. To give you some unsolicited advice: don't play martingale. Learn to count, or do a comp-hustle; bet $100 when the boss rates you, then drop to $10. Have fun, get free rooms and food, and don't risk one bad night wiping you out.

with the martingale system you risk ALOT to make almost nothing. if your min bet is 5 and the table limit is 300, you can only lose 6 in a row before youre bet would exceed the limit (320)

Martingale = bad idea.

card counting, bet moderation, bankroll management = good idea.

drinking alcohol whilst playing = bad idea (except to avoid detection).

drinking water to refresh = good idea, keeps the blood circulating to the brain.

This is an awsome strategy, i often buy in small amounts and play small amounts at the beginning of a shoe, and then when i raise my bets larger i ask the floor person if i game him my card, it yeilds awsome comp dollars.

I've found the same works for me - especially when playing on graveyard casino shifts. Put $100 chips on when the pit boss is there / looking, and min bet when they're not. You're still rated at the $100 a hand level, giving the casino 60 x $100 = $6000 worth of play an hour, at 2% theo = $120 per hour of value, at 40% payback in comps = $48 an hour in comp dollars back to you.

If you can pull this "shifty" it can work wonders. You also need to palm a few chips off the table now and then though so that you appear to be losing more than you are - when the pit boss comes around they'll expect to see your stack of chips going down by an expected amount....

You're probably OK

Although extra paranoid casinos like the old Barbaric Coast DID back off good customers for winning too much, regardless of their stupid progressions or stupid luck. In most casinos you have to be pretty good at an AP skill to get backed off. Just remember that some are so stupid and sweaty that they don't want any winners.

I have personally lost 14 hands in a row, starting at $5 thats $40,960 bet.

I don't think the original topic poster is serious or has played that much. I have won $200 - $300 many times on $5 martingale, one day I lost a $160 bet that took me out. Its mathematical certainty to eventually loose.
