DO NOT use a friends card! I'd much rather get caught using a fake ID: you at least have the defense of the common law right to call yourself whatever the hell you want.

Playing on your friends card is fraud, and this sort of thing routinely leads to denial of slot jackpots.

In general I think its ok to use others cards, I do it all the time and even got "caught" - the casino didn't even do anything, just told me not to use the card.

moo's in all likelihood right that it might cause complications for big jackpots. Although somebody used my card and won lucky ladies with no problems ($1000, which isn't huge).

YMMV; I've hit two separate W2-G jackpots on a family member's comps, at two different casinos, and no one batted an eye. Maybe for a game's absolute top pay ($100,000 on $5 Wheel of Fortune) it would cause issue.

If using family comps, it may be a good idea to have all players in the family use the same PIN; this way you have plausible deniability. "I must have pulled out the wrong card, I just put a card in, punched in the PIN, and started playing. My wife just gave me her card to hold onto."

I think it depends on the name. I am sure Caesar's has more than one John Smith and Jose Rodriguez born on the same day. The Asian names complicate it even more- you realize how many Indians are named Singh and Koreans named Kim?

It would make an interesting discrimination case, as some nationalities have a wealth of surnames and others have relatively few.

I'm going to caveat this by stating this data point is particular to a number of Vegas casinos.

I've attempted to get different loyalty cards from Vegas casinos in an attempt to lower the total lifetime win while still getting comps.

In most cases, the casino has your name, your date of birth, address and in many cases a scan of the ID that you used to sign up. The casino's loyalty system is going to show matching name and date of birth. If the casino employee is on the ball, you're not going to be able to get another loyalty card with a different number.

Now, of course, if you look differently in the photo, if there is a variation on spelling of the name, if you are or not already flagged as an AP in the system, if a supervisor isn't called over...your results may vary.
