Basic Strat - Late Surrender

Why do you stay on 16 vs dealer 10 if you can't surrender, when BS with no surrender would always say hit 16 v 10?

I would feel very uncomfortable staying on 16 vs 10 unless the count was high.

thanks;

Hi-lo 0 or above stand 16 vs 10, if surrender is offered surrender.

This is also true when you are hitting and reach 16 vs 10. Hand composition also plays a role.

To a skilled player LS is a fine tool.

agree?

I agree when hitting to 16 vs 10, keep hitting.

The only thing that I can think of why the BS on this site says different, is for none counters if you are hitting to 16 you've probably used a few low cards so the count might be a bit higher, so Stand vs. 10 might be better. Oh course to a counter this wouldn't be necessary.

16vT is a very close call. If your 16 is three cards or more, then you have used up enough small cards to make standing better. That's why the Strategy Engine says RS... Surrender if you can. If you can't surrender (because your hand is three cards or more), then stand.
