Basic Strategy Variations based on True Count

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and enjoy reading the posts in the forum.
I want to first become a perfect basic strategy player, and then move on to card counting if I have the time. Somewhere I learnt that BS will vary depending on the TC at that time. Is that true?. If it is, then can someone please explain the BS variations with regards to TC preferably with an example.

Thanks much
James

FIRST you must learn PERFECT NON-COUNT BS... or have you done that already? zg

Hi Wjdany,

Yes, there are times when you'll deviate from BS according to the count. These are called indices and depending on what counting system you use, there could be any number of them. It's been determined that there are 18 especially important ones including: at what count to stand with 16 v 10, or 12 v 3 or when to take insurance. But ZenGrifter is right, first you must know BS without ever having to think about it. Don't even pick a counting system until you have played a few thousand hands (on a computer or with cards at home) without making any BS mistakes. Then get the details on a few different counting systems and determine which one will be best for the particular game you play.
