best places to count cards

good games in Poland?? maybe it was good 3-5 yrs ago, but...

sorry, this country has only 20 non-CSM casinos, in which most of the time you'll get halfshoed after 2 hours-2 days of play... it's hard to get barred, however is it worth to travel for 50% pen?

Just for starters. zg

HAHHAAHHA, love it. I agree about CBJN sometimes hiding a good game.

If you have unlimited free flights, move between, Vegas, AC, Reno, Gulf Coast and Foxwoods. This way you will see different games in different places, all beatable to some degree but the you will see LOTS of games. If you spend your time chasing a game on a reservation in the Northwest or some riverboat you might be disapointed when you get there. The big gambling centres give you a variety of games. Find out what you like then play for that.

i've flown with a lot of guys that will bid vegas layovers just to get free trips out there and then gamble the whole layover......my if i can make something of this that's what i'll be doing

Yes, I've been told something similar - there are shoe games that can be had in Poland, but like most casinos anyone who starts putting serious amounts across the felt and wins is going to be scrutinised and have measures taken against them. I may go myself on one of Mr O'Leary's cheapo fights myself, but then I play for peanuts and shouldn't think they'd give a $#it at my level.

As for the Ukraine, would anyone really want to be flagged up as a card counter there? You might find that medical insurance comes in handy. I wouldn't dream of it, especially if there was serious money involved.

I recently roomed for a week with a young fellow from Germany who had with him a satchel containing $37,000, that grew from $5,000 in 6 months playing there.

Those who can consider playing in Eastern Europe can contact me privately.
Flash, I am going to Poland for two weeks on vacation. I played there last year when I was new to the game. I am much better since then. I see that you are very interested in the game in Poland and Ukraine. What are your thoughts or observations on BJ in Poland specifically? The system won't allow me to contact you privately as you requested. Thanks.

polish player here

hi
I'm from Poland. I visited only 4 casinos here though. I think You can beat them, anyway most casinos aside from capital have 1 or max 2 blackjack tables with limits 10-300 or 25-500 pln. 300 pln it's little under 100$ now. Wonging doesn't work here, most of the time You will play heads up against the dealer. Casinos have edge 0,3% or 0,55 %. Casinos with 0,55% edge have also over/under 13 option:). In casinos where house has 0,3 edge and they will know You are counting cards, You will get not 50% penetration but something like 35% ( only 2 decks deal out). You don;t have to be worry about being barred though especially if You aren't playing in capital. If someone has more questions or would like a list of polish casinos, send me PM, I will try to help.

Cheers

Any mention of "Over / Under" always gets my full attention. It is easily beatable.

For those youngsters who are unfamiliar with this excellent side-bet — It is awesome.

It is so good that it is an A.P. opportunity in any game with average penetration. Betting opportunities are frequent.

One bets whether or not their hand's initial two cards will be over or under 13 with Aces equal to 1.

In the U.S.A. the side-bet was always offered with a minimum of $1 and a max of $100.

In 1989 Arnold Snyder published and sold "The Over/Under Report" an 18 page monograph.

I own a rare copy. . . . ;)

This game was so easy to beat that it disappeared from the U.S.A. sometime back in the 1990's, after a few years.

For those wanting the E.O.R. for this game, etc. etc. I could discuss this further.

Over/under

Flash,

I have read Mr Snyder's counting system on over/under in Blackbelt in Blackjack. I haven't put it to memory yet. I saw this side bet in a few casinos in Poland when I was there in 2009. I was just learning the game then. I think it is slowly disappearing in Poland too since at one casino I visited, it was on the blackjack felt but the casino was no longer allowing under/over bets. I wonder what it is like now? Any more insight on this opportunity would be helpful. I would PM you, but the system doesn't allow me. Thanks.

I am not surprised that it is disappearing in Poland too.
As such, it is not really worth discussing.

re: over/under

Well, I know of one casino which I will visit that had the over/under side bet last year. I hope it is still an option when I get there! There is also a new casino in a secondary northern city which I may visit. Since it is new, maybe this side bet will be offered at least for a short time. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

re: under/over advice, please?

Flash,

I am here in Poland now. I am using Snyder's "over" strategy which is:

Count starts at -24 for six decks
A, 2, 3, 4, 5 = +1
10's = -1
At zero + max bj and over bet
with no surrender at 0+:
Stand 12 v 2, 3
Stand 16 v 9, 10, A
Stand 15 v 10
Take insurance

I have to bone up again on this system before I try again. So, my notes here might not be complete. My first try out was a wash since I wasn't used to the money and I had only a few positive opportunities.

Do you have anything to add? I'll check back within a couple of days. If you wish, you can delete your posting after that. Thanks for the help!
