Betting strategy for $1,000

What would you guys say is a good betting strategy for a bank roll of $1,000? What would you start off at and at what point would you increase your bets?

Thanks!

It all depends on what your goals are. Do you want to maximize your probability of winning a particular session? Do you want to decrease the house edge as much as possible? Do you want to play for as long as possible before going broke? Are you looking for the excitement of a big score or are you happy with occasional modest wins? Do you want to maximize comps? How muck overall risk are you willing to take? How long does the system need to last? One session? A Week? A lifetime? Do you want to gamble or do you want to have an advantage?

I want to make the most money possible... I don't care if I play two hands or 1,000 hands if the end result is more money. I wouldn't be playing if I was concerned about losing, if I lose, I lose, but I'd just like to find a basic strategy that could help give me an edge.

What I typically do, is just follow basic strategy for 6-decks in AC. Then in terms of betting I'll usually start off at about $25/hand.. then randomly increase, I'll typically play off and on.. if I win a couple hands in a row, I might increase to $200, can't tell you why, other than it "feels right", If I start losing, I'll back off back to $25 or so... I'm sure this "strategy" isn't the best.

Then you will need to play with an advantage. Card counting is the easiest way, but it is also the weakest. Start by looking through all of the techniques and decide which one will work best for the casino(s) you are planning on playing in. Here is a link to a short list of some winning techniques:

Most people start with card counting because it is simple and it gives you a very good introduction to the game and how to become a winning player. That makes it much easier to work with other techniques. No matter what you do you will need to understand variance, risk, proportional bet sizing, and many other concepts. Most of this will be covered in card counting books so that is a good place to start.

$25 dollar minimum bet, you can play 40 hands on a $1000. Loosing streaks of 20 hands in a row can happen. As stated, basic strategy is to minimize loss. There is no way around that. Advanced play techniques will help to give you a slight advantage. Knowing when you have this advantage would be the time to put more money on the table. This does not make you immune to loosing streaks.

I do not play for profit. A few comps are nice, but I play for fun. I try to find open $5 dollar tables and take $200 per session from my $1000 bankroll. I play basic strategy. If I get up a $100 I think about leaving and asking for a comp meal. If I get down $100 I am thinking about leaving and asking for a comp meal. If I get down $200 I am done for that session. I don't play enough to see the long term results. This works for me. I have a day job for income. I can hear all you experts groaning.
