Biloxi Blues

I am in shock, I wanted to post as soon as we returned from Biloxi. That was two weeks ago. We stayed at the Beau Rivage on a package plan out of Ft Lauderdale. The best time I ever had. Biloxi is my kind of gambling town, well was. Being from the south, the environment just felt comfortable. The Black Jack tables had good rules. 6 deck hand shuffled with about 5 deck penetration, DAS, dealer stands on all 17s, and late surrender. The dealers were friendly and helpful. The package for two included air fare, ground transportation, 2 buffets each, and the room. The total was around $500 for both of us. Katrina hit our area as a cat 1 and basically had a rainy windy day. Biloxi and the surrounding areas got much worse. I look at the film footage and can't believe we were just there. I feel for all the people and employees we came in contact with while there. Not sure what to do to help at this time, but will definitely do something. Hopefully one day the area can be rebuilt and we will be able to return. It is all a real shame.

Yep, I have an Aunt who was a security guard at one of the casinos there. I haven't heard from her yet. I was looking forward to going down for a visit and hitting some of the good blackjack there. My wife's company is matching all employee donations to the American Red Cross this week for the hurricane relief fund, so we're going to give as much as we can. That is about all I can think of to do at this point.
