BJ tourney home games

Hi

I was wondering about starting a BJ tournament home game with a few mates as we don't have easy access to casinos and I just thought it'd be fun. Anybody else do that? Any tips? Can't see why it wouldn't work...

Cheers

I wanted to practice in a casino-type setting and try different playing/counting strategies before I used my own $$$ to really play - since I'm relatively new to this. After getting all the stuff needed for a full table layout, I invited my friends over and we played a real tournament with tournament rules. Instead of playing for $$$, I bought a few casino-related prizes for the round winners and for the overall winner of the night. We played 20 hands per round and we all started with a few hundred in chips - with the ability to take markers when needed. I was surprised to see how excited my friends got as it came down to the last few hands - which determined who the big winner was. We all had a really good time and my friends are asking me when the next tournament is going to be. The only problem I may have is not enough seats at my table, but that is a good thing. Also, next tournament, each person that comes is going to bring a prize so I don't have to buy them myself.
