Blackjack in Korea

So I have heard about the blackjack games in Korea and that other counters have gone there to play. I've always been intrigued about going there and am looking to plan a trip there. How is the regulation of these casinos, can they be trusted with confidence that it's a fair game? Also if you're caught counting, what exactly are the repercussions in that foreign country. I'm sure they won't cut my hands off, especially at 2x200 LOL, but I'm also sure we don't have the same rights as we do back home in the states so it would be good to know.

Secondly, what are the conditions there like as of today? Are there still any non-csm games there or is it just in hi-limit? I'm looking at the flights there for November and they seem relatively cheap for around 450 if you take off from LA and with a hotel for a week around 850, which still isn't terrible. The problem is the car though. They don't offer any car rentals at the airport when I get there. How have other players done this when they arrive in Korea? How did you drive around to casinos and back? Did you just taxi from the airport to a car rental and then went from there?

Any advice about anything would be great. Also if anyone has any other foreign countries with a beatable blackjack game through strict counting, please share here or through PM. I'm aware the caribbean has some games, but I'm looking more towards Europe, Asia, and South America since I do like to travel and it's not 'just' about playing.

I've heard the bedbugs in Korea are 5 times the size of their USA counterparts. One bite and you've lost 20% of your blood.

If South America is high on the priority list, go to the blog section on this website and scroll halfway down on that first page. Meistro wrote an article about Medellin (Columbia) and how great the 21 games are there (they have early surrender). I would think that country is pretty dangerous, but what do I know, I`ve never been there. I think he actually mentions something about that in the article, how there`s a common misconception of how dangerous it is there.

Thanks SFD. Now that you mention it, that rings a bell because I remember seeing that article some time ago. Although I joked about Korea cutting my hand off, I think that might be a real possibility in Columbia, even at 2x200 lol.

Also anyone have any experience with the blackjack games in Monte Carlo?

Haha! Yeah I wasn`t thinking about it before you said that, but the equivalent of $200 US there could be somewhere near the table max! I`ll have to read the article again; it`s been a long time and I don`t remember any of those details.

I took a look at some games in Korea fairly recently. Mostly crap blackjack, terrible penetration, bad rules, and crowded. But other AP opportunities for sure (3CP if you have the stomach).

You also have to be concerned with currency rates, they'll undoubtedly skim off the top of those. I don't know about legal repercussions, but a passport is required for entry.

I believe there are some games in Thailand that might be playable, if anyone can confirm. Just looking to travel somewhere far from the US that has somewhat playable blackjack so I can kill two birds with one stone. It's more to sightsee and see some different places around the world. I never been to Asia or other parts of Europe, just western europe. South America would be cool too, ive been to Brazil, but that's it. Wouldnt mind going back to Brazil again though.
