Is it worth the $20 with all the extras it comes with ? Anyone who subscribes are the articles of any interest would you recommend it?
Give it a shot for $20.

I found it not really user friendly and rather lightweight. It can be entertaining with the likes of Joe Pane, a legend in his own mind, and Scoblette, the Carny Huckster, both being rather prevalent there.

But I do recommend you give it a try, especially if you are an AC player.

I signed up for it a year ago.....I figured $20. was pretty cheap for some good info.

My subscription ran out this month. I will not be renewing....even for the cost of $17.99

It was worth checking out, but no info that I sought. Some ok info regarding AC....but other than that, not worth it to me.

If I want stories from the 'good ole days', I'll use the $20. to buy a book or two off Amazon.

It is NOT worthwhile, as it has poor reporting and clear misinformation about table conditions.

The authors of some of the articles are the "usual suspects" when it comes to publishing "ploppy manuals" and "get rich quick schemes".

Have to continue the agreement.

Signed up to receive the newletters figuring the fee was minimal but have found little useful information.

It depends what the freebies that usually accompany it are. When I subscribed, I got a copy of Barfinkles book, and a three month subscription to a premium site, so the $20 was worth it.

That is why I say give it a shot, for a one time deal not bad, just after that not worth the money.

If you want a paid site go to GC.

There should be a paid site here similar to GC, this site could use it.

I don't understand why people flock to a paid site when free sites like this are available. While a pay site might weed out spammers and some riff-raff, it certainly won't keep the casino spies out.

CP, what do you think a pay site would offer here?

True, a point that we should keep in mind at all times. But sites with a subscription fee are worth it if that's where the quality information can be found.

Many like the exclusivity of GC, they may speak more freely, while in actuality the chats here serve that purpose.

But I still think it a good idea.

You get that from trusted friends.

Won't keep out the casino spys, but the regulars might. :) I have only been to one GP party in Vegas, and at first I gotta tell ya was pretty uncomfortable. :( felt like I was on trial. :( Almost everyone seemed skeptical and stand-offish. But later realized that that was these folks way of protecting themselves. By the end of the event, I was accepted pretty embrassingly, and have met a couple of these guys outside of the event. I haven't decided if I will attend any more of these events, but if I decide to, I feel secure in knowing that someone that no one knows isn't going to walk in and participate. That same scrutiny that applied to me will keep them out. :)
