Blackjack pays 2 to 1!?

What the heck, my casino pays blackjacks 2 to 1. How does that change my overall odds from that of the generated table that said I will get Blackjack 3/2? On my sheet I have a .44% house edge, does that change with this wierd payout? Or isn't this wierd? Cause on all the online tutors and simulators its 3/2, or all the ones I have played.

Won 20 bucks on Blackjack in a couple hands with a double down a 6/5, got a Jack :)

Lost 15 due to slots/Roulette(Never playing those again, especially slots) Got suckered in by flashing lights.

Where the heck do you play and what are the OTHER table rules on that 2:1 Blackjack? That will easily turn a negative expectation game POSITIVE if the other rules are halfway good.

Blackjack or DD 21

Senacchrib stated he got a Blackjack on a couple hands with a double down on 6/5 when he caught a Jack both times for 21. A double down 21 is not blackjack and should be paid 2/1. A blackjack is only 2 cards, a 10 and ace not 6/5 and jack or any 3 or more cards that equal a total of 21. Sorry Senacchrib but your casino pays 2/1 for a successfull double down not blackjack.

Ahhh, most things that seem too good to be true are too good to be true ;)

Senacchrib....only "naturals" pay 3:2 and are called Blackjacks. A "natural" is an Ace and a Ten valued card dealt as your first two cards. No other "21" is considered a Blackjack...not even if you split Aces and draw a Face card.

Did not get a blackjack on a double down, i know its only a natural 21 that is a blackjack. (2 in the morning, very tired). I got 21 on a double down and won money. The other rules on the table or DD on any two cards, DD after splits, dealer stands on soft 17, 6 decks, BLACKJACK pays 2 to 1. So what is the final outcome?

Sorry again for the confusion. Casino is in NOrthern michigan.

Ok, so...

Just playing Basic Strategy I have a 2% edge over the casino? Without card counting? No, i believe it has always been this way since the table that I was playing on had that printed on it lol. THIS IS SWEET

Sorry to be anal about this Senacchrib, but there almost has to be a catch. Are you sure this is straight BJ and not something like Spanish 21. I've just never heard of a casino that had 2:1 blackjacks unless it was a short termed promotional stunt.

I saw a promotion down in Oklahoma where they would pay 3:2 on Split Aces if they drew faces. I've also seen 2:1 coupons at casinos that you can turn in and get ONE 2:1 payout on a blackjack instead of the standard 3:2.

But standard 2:1 I've only seen in things like Charity Blackjack where the money is "funny money" used to "buy" things at an auction. There is a entry fee charged to each person at these Charity Casinos and all money raised goes to the Charity.

But never have I seen it on a cash table as a house policy. I'm really interested in which casino that is and if there is an airport close by!

Well, I called em just to make sure. It seems I either am completely psychotic and messed the numbers up in my head, or the table DOES say 2-1, but the blackjack payout is only 3-2. Sorry for the confusion, or if you got your hopes up.

What you saw as 2:1 on the table was most likely the payoff on Insurance.

Senacchib, if the casino had actually paid 2:1 blackjack then your edge with the rules you specified (6 deck, DOA, DAS, dealer stands soft 17, no surrender) would have given the basic strategy player a 1.9% edge. Throw in a counting edge of another +.5% depending on count used and you would make a fortune!
