Can CVdata generate multi-parameter indices?

Hi,

Does anyone know if CVdata can generate multi-parameter indices, for l2 and l3 counts? Im looking for the numbers for A's and 8's.

No CVdata cannot generate MP tables (QFIT not a big fan of side-counts), you will have to find them or generate them on your own. However it will let you input them to run a sim.

It is quite easy to calculate the MP tables on your own. All you need is the effect of removal for different playing decisions (you can find them in Theory of Blackjack), there is also a section that explains how to calculate the adjustment numbers for your side counts.

I am not sure why you want to side count 8s, side counting 7's is inherently stronger. :)

Likely he's already including the 7s in the primary count.
Jack, there is an MP generator spreadsheet - its either in the Resources index or was at BJMATH. zg

Its Good to see, (as our new moderator) your familiar w/Q-fits products.

I was "more less" curious to see, just for fun, how much in EV, you gained from it, in a 2d game. As ZG, mentioned, I already reckon the 7s, therefore I believe theres more to be acheived, by side-counting the 8s, vs the already reckoned 7.

ZG, I've used the MP, index generator before, but I cant seem to find it. I know the ace-params, so it probably wouldnt be that hard to input the 8s for stiff hands. Obviously it would be 12-13 vs 14-16. Cvdata reads them as 1-xtra(surplus), so 12 and 13 would have positive tags, while 14-16 would have negative ones.

When you are using MP tables, you can achieve most of the gain (and save yourself a lot of headache) by focusing on the very important plays, these include: a) the gain from correct strategy departure is high, b) your primary count has a very low correlation coefficient for that particular play.

For instance, 14 vs 10 is the second more important play for pitch games (after insurance), and 7 is the most important card for that play, for that matter primary counts that value the 7 as 1 or 0, miss much of the potential gain.

What i am trying to say that even if some card denomination is included in the primary count, you might still be missing on the gain from a particular play if you don't side-count that denomination and readjust the count to make the correct play. Another good example is side-counting 6s for 16 vs 10

IIRC you can fool CVData to generate such indices for you. Haven't done it but maybe Norm can provide you with more information. This post will put you one the right track.
