OF course I was just using a human as an example, it could be any object for that matter. Imagine for a second, you built a heat-resistant tube from one side of the Earth to the Other, So friction would'nt be an Issue. And then you dropped a 100lb IRON ball down the tube. I would think, that it would travel back and forth forever. But who knows...lol, I really dont.
In a frictionless vacuum, I'd guess it would act somewhat like a pendulum. Go as far the other way as it was dropped and come back.

If we call the drag force b(v,x) then the equation of motion is just: ma=-b(v,x)-Ggmx/(r^3) (because x will never exceed r) where m is your mass, g is the mass of the earth, r is the radius of the earth, and G is the universal constant of gravitation.
More importantly, what's the equation you would apply to a roulette wheel and ball lol.

I don't know if any of you have seen Ocean's Thirteen, but there they use a system to beat craps, slots and roulette.

I cant remember how they did in ths slots and roulette, but I remember they used weights in the dices is craps, is a variant of this really theoreticlly possible?

Also, I remember the system for roulette was complex and used computers, so I don't know if that's possible, maybe if you have an insider dealer.

I know to be sceptic when seeing these things in a movie, but many of their methods made sense, and I wonder if they are systems alike theirs with a slight diffrence? For example, the dices, are they possible to make and use to your advantage?

As far as craps goes, you get some dice that haven't been painted yet. Then, you use normal paint in some numbers, and drill slightly deeper holes in others and put lead based paint (which is much heavier) into some holes to influence the dice. The extra weight will pull towards certain numbers. I believe they have some kind of magnet or metal detector at some casinos to prevent this, but apparently it can still be accomplished with some other paint base (tungsten?).

Otherwise, you can shave the dice, which means certain sides will be slightly larger, and more likely to come up. Of course, if you look closely at the dice, you can see this.

They had intercepted the supply of roulette balls and replaced them with some kind of cheating (magnetic?) roulette balls. Similar thing for craps. The slots were hacked by someone who worked for the casino and a back door was installed that would respond to a certain coin-in sequence. They also replaced the shufflers to stack the deck in the player's favor for several card games. I don't think that a person would be able to pull any of that off in reality without getting caught very quickly.

Oh yeah, and they airlifted the diamonds out of the top floor. Anyone know the EV on that play?

Lol. I can't remember if I posted this somewhere else or not but I was thinking of it anyway.

These guys may not even have committed a crime in 2004 in England it maybe seems.

I give them alot of credit except for sacrificing short-term profits vs longevity lol.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could estimate the speed of a ball accurately enough? :)

I just thought I'd throw this out here...

Wouldn't mind joining a team myself. I know the hi-lo with maybe about 60 recent hours practice in the casino. 34 years old. Living in Michigan. Collecting unemployment now... so I have no job and no girlfriend and no wife and no kids..in other words a lot of time for dedication.
