Card Counting 101

I play BJ 3 or 4 times a year.... 2 to 3 day trips.
I use basic strategy and carry my strategy card to the table.
I am comfortable at either a $5, $10, or $15 dollar table and a spread of 1 - 5 (1 - 4 at a $15 table)
I have been using the KO Rookie system and have a software program for training at home.
The issues I have is that with the limited visits to a casino it takes 2 to 3 shoes and somtimes more to get going with the count system and I seem to wear out in a short period of time.
Practice on a computer is one thing but the casino is a different environment.
Is KO system what I should use based on my limited play and are there any other suggestions?
 
You are playing perhaps 30 or 40 hrs per yr. Perhaps less.

Your spread is far too narrow to be profitable at low stakes tables which
are generally replete with poor rules and mediocre penetration.

You carry a basic strategy card. Can you explain why?

You are using an easy simple Level One [Unbalanced] Count
that is well-suited for your frequency and level of play.

If you have to have a B.S. card, then it is clear that you have no place playing BJ with any
expectation other than losing; unless, that is, you wish to GAMBLE — an activity that is not
promoted or supported at this website. You are not ready (yet); so go study and practice.
