Casino cheating ?

I know an Indian Casino in California that never spreads the cards. When changing cards the pit comes with a new preshuffled stack and they are placed in the automatic shuffler. I have counted down enough shoes there to be confident that they do not cheat but still think that this is a case of greed and stupidity.
They are greedy because they do not want to have 10 minutes of downtime once a day when they change out their 6 deck shoes. The casino makes no money while cards are being spread but I have witnessed and know people who will not step foot in their casino because they are suspicious of this lack of openness. They create mistrust and I believe that costs them multiples of what they make by never spreading. They are not cheating so why let a number of people think they are?

I've been on a NY casino cruise boat that does not spread the cards. It just so happened that I was also getting a lot of really high counts with little success. Bareley eked out a profit.

Now I know that even in high counts, in shoe games you cannot feel yourself winning over the course of one night, and human perception is such that you don't notice your advantage or disadvantage as you play. The multitude of huge counts was the issue though. I think that if I have ever been cheated by a casino, it was on that boat. I'm not going to go back and prove it because I have nothing to gain nor the level of experience a gaming investigator should have.

A cruise boat, especially one that is just for gambling might be the perfect place to cheat this way. As you know, the only way to really tell is to have counted enough shoes to be sure. This is the case with the casino I mentioned. An excellent AP who I know lives closeby and has counted a ton of shoes there, plus I have counted more than a few. The number of negative and positive counts seems very normal, where if they were shorting the shoe, there would be an abnormally high amount of high counts. But of course, a few hours or a few days of play is just not enough to be sure, but the fact that they do not start the games by spreading the cards is again foolish if they are not cheating. Honest casinos should put in a little extra effort to show their customers that the game is honest.

Nothing. You are right. Casinos cheat all the time. You should never ever play in a casino nor waste your time on a website where everyone is obviously stupid.
Ciao.

Actually x mate, you did just the other day in this thread http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bb/showthread.php?t=4707&highlight=sleighting
And i have to agree with the others, casinos and by extension dealers have far too much to lose these days to risk cheating you out of a couple of hundred dollars. It just doesn't make sence to risk your licence to break one or two winners.
I'm not saying it never happens, but it really isn't all that common especially in the bigger venues.
And the questions still bares asking, if you really believe that cheating is so prevalent, why do you continue to play the game or post on the topic? It seems like a futile exercise to me......

Well I like to play. I wonder how much casinos have to lose ? Gaming commissions could easily be paid off . If a casino had 1 bogus table a night it would quickly add up . It's just a question to kick around . I'm not trying to live and die by it .
Just look at this board in the last couple days . You got a dealer saying they cheat and a good AP that knows he got cheated . Is this really that strange a topic ? It may or may not be more common the we think.

You need to practice your reading comprehension. The dealer said he could show you some ways to cheat,he never said he ever did it in a live game. And the AP said the dealer was setting the aces funny, not that he got cheated.

Casinos do not cheat but casino employees have been known too

xfiles: Perhaps your name says it all, and I do not want to feed you much because the odds that a casino wanted to cheat you out of a measly $500 are perhaps thousands of times worse than your hitting megabucks on your next spin. Just look at how bad the players around you are. It is near impossible for a casino to lose.
That said; Cheating can happen in a pitch game where the dealer is purposely flashing to a partner playing and he cheats other players to keep the tables win in line with other tables. With the cameras available in casinos today, this would be an extremely rare thing.

The real cheating that might go on today is the kind of cheating that three upper level employees of the Venetian were caught doing a couple of years ago. The casino had a money drawing for loyal guests who were on a special list. Like everyone's name is in a drum and someone picks out the winners, but these three arranged that a certain high roller would be rewarded with the grand prize. They were fired (and quickly hired by other casinos) but their cheating was the type where they did not take money from the casino or players, except they did take from whomever would have actually gotten the grand prize.

$500 may be a significant amount of money to you, but to a casino where there might be many people at that moment betting much more than $500 on a hand or spin or whatever, it is petty cash at best.
