Charity Games

Hey guys,

To be clear I am asking about Charity games (such as bars/speciality places that have charity poker and then a few Blackjack tables) as opposed to Charity casinos which I have seen in Canada.

Do these games usually have favorable rules? How about heat?

I am sure they differ from place to place but I just realized there are a lot of these places around and they may be worth looking into.

I don't know all the specifics, but the idea is to raise money for charities so the rules are not going to be favorable to the player. I don't know this for a fact, but I've heard rumor that these games usually have a rule that the dealer wins all pushes.

I am not familiar with Charity Casinos. Only Charity game I have ever encountered was at a church raising money for the Tasami disaster a couple years ago by having a casino night. They were dealing one deck down until they couldn't get another round in. Standard shoe rules. BJ pays 3-2, double on any, DAS, don't remember if they offered insurance or not.
OH what could have been! I couldn't possible consider taking money from them though. I played a little roulette instead. Lost 20 bucks.

In NY, we have different types of Charity LV nites. Some are run by a local firehouse, KofC or Temple and generally have amatuers dealing and such. These I avoid, although there are sometimes great opportunities.
The other type is when an organization pays a House of Worship, firehouse or Little League a flat fee and mans the games with pro dealers. These I will play, and you can sometimes do okay because the dealer thinks he's dealing with a bunch of rubes.

Last I knew around here rules were BJ pays 2-1 but dealer wins all pushes. Used ASM but was dealt from a shoe at the place I played. Min $1 max $5. Took a friend for BS practice, since that's about all it's worth. As far as I know somewhere on the State of Michigan website it lists the allowable rules. Search for "Millionaire Party(s)". Heard not to long ago that there were not allowing BJ anymore. And as far as the sports bar close to you, their website listed it but they did not have it anymore, as of last fall ;)
