Try Acedemy bus to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun.

Thanks Tthree, I found this one as well, prior to posting.. it doesn't particularly work out as it doesn't depart from NYC.

Here is another to Parx.

Thanks!! This one here was pretty attractive -- I was able to contact them and it's only 1.5 hours, runs daily and you could leave on one schedule and return on the second, thereby stretching your gambling day. Also, it costs only $18 including tips and they appear to have a descent bonus program.

This also looks good!! Thanks for the PA options Tthree!! Trying to contact them for details but waiting on a callback ;)

Thanks HsiaoDi, I know exactly where you mean. During my adventure in Chinatown last week, I familiarized myself w/ the area and I used the Mc D's as a reference point. I've seen that web site too but I've had issues reaching them. I'll try again around the times you suggested. Thanks again.

Sure it does, it leaves from the Bronx.

Unless you're one of those people who only calls Manhattan NYC!

Now what I'd like to find is a bus that goes direct from CT or Westchester/Rockland to AC without going through the Port Authority. It would probably come over the Tappan Zee and down the Parkway. Most of the time on that bus ride is wasted getting in and out of Manhattan.

LOL! Good point AM... My Bad! I didn't realize how that could have come across -- no disrespect to all the Bronx Bombers out there. :whip:

I, on the other hand, find going through the PABT very convenient, but I understand how that could be a HUGE time waster for someone that doesn't need to make Subway connection.

Yes, especially being the Peter Pans that come from the north go over the GWB and have to come down the avenues. What a mess that can be. Also the subway does not work if you're going for more than an overnight and have to carry a piece of luggage. It's really a very onerous trip for anyone coming north of Manhattan, it's almost always ends up better off driving.

True!! I know where you're coming from.. For the reasons you just mentioned and more, I MUST travel light when staying overnight (or 2+ nights). Just the strict necessities otherwise it becomes a cluster@#$^ traveling w/ luggage through the underground mazes.. But for now, PABT serves me right... regardless what schedule I take back to Manhattan, I get back to my place within an hour at the most.

Hey!! Wanted to thank everyone for helping me find my way through the Orient in "212" as I was finally able to demystify the whole (or at least partial) Casino Bus situation out in Chinatown!

It's amazing how those buses were all "hiding in plain view" and I was walking w/ "eyes wide shut"... Yet it's also funny how noone you talk to speaks English or knows what a "casino" is when you ask for directions!!

I was able to find buses out to Foxwoods, Parx, Mount Airy, and Mohegun Sun PA. Next stop is Delaware Park... any suggestions?

Again, big shout-outs to PayMyPUsh, AlwaysSplitAces, HsiaoDi, Automatic Monkey, Shadroch, Tthree, FLASH and others for your help with this!!

Next rounds' on me!!

:toast:

You found note than me...never saw the mohegan sun pa bus.... nice...
LOL! That's funny. I figured out that these buses often move from one corner to another. Some are directly on Bowery while others are off to the side, like on Division. I also learned to look CAREFULLY (as it's easy to walk right by w/o noticing) at the store-fronts / store gates as these buses often literally hang banner-like signs with a logo of the respective casino and/or prices and/or BONUSES given to riders. This is partly what I was referring to when I mentioned that they were "hiding in plain sight". Finally, I learned to look at the actual people standing around... some of them have "stacks" of papers in their hands (colorful? Bus tickets?). Others have CASH $$ in their hands ready to make quick change - and lastly, I've asked idling bus drivers for information.

Hope this helps!! Thanks again! ;)

Will look for mohegan sun pocono at some point unless someone let me know it's not worth the trip... Thanks ms...
