comps/borgata

i'm at the borgata. I am getting some heat. They are changing the pen on me and whispering a lot. It is very annoying obviously but i'm wondering if anyone has any advice for me. I have a 2 night stay, this is night one, and I just got a $180 massage and room service for 2. Is there any chance they can take away my comp points and force me to pay for these expenditures if they realize i am counting? Has anyone been forced to pay for something they thought was free in a situation like this?

appreciate any responses. The borgata is great and I want to keep it going but wonder if I should head to the Boardwalk.

thanks.

Yes to everything. They can take away your comps but they probably won't. They can and will shuffle up on you. If you're getting comps like you describe, you're probably playing some decent stakes so it will make you a target. Did the massage include a :bomb: ?

My advice is the same I've given dozens of times: walk the 'Walk, look for the best pen you can find, wherever you can find it, and backcount. Pledge to yourself that you will not play even one negative EV hand.

The best rules for counters in AC by far is now at the Trump Marina. They are offering late surrender on all bets over $50, and being you are going to have larger bets out only at high counts where the surrender rule is most valuable, you will be getting most of the value of LS.

Is that LS at Trump on $50 min tables or any table as long as the bet is >$50?

If at $50 min tables, I presume it's no midshoe entry?

Gallin - PM sent.

According to CBJN, it's on any BJ bet of $50 or greater.

thanks for the PM. very surprised they did not take away your comps after being shuffled on and pen changed. I will continue to spend them as much as I can. I will head over the the marina, it's the closest one anyway and give that a shot.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Please give us a report on Marina...

The marina: The LS is nice, but other than that, it's worthless. Pen was about 70% on the 8-deckers. There were so few bj tables and they were mostly full that I went to the high roller room for 6D. I played for about 2 hours, was up 2k, then down to +600, when I made a big bet and the pit called for a shuffle. the next shoe was cut after 3D and I left right away. They were on to me and I knew it. I was spreading 50 to 400. Moral of the story is if you're going to play there, do not play in the high roller room. I learned my lesson and will not be playing in the HR room anywhere.

The borgata is still great. Pen varies by dealer, some >80%. I played for about 25 hours there over 2 days and literally got no heat whatsoever. I was spreading 50 to 400 again. I used camo by leading out with 100 the first hand. I wonged out a lot and played at some high stakes tables to blend in better.

Thanks for the report.

When you say high stakes tables, do you mean in the high roller room or the area in front of the high roller room where there are 2 pits adjacent to each other (wth a bunch of 25-3000 and 50-3000 tables)?

Good report. CBJN has them at 8D/1.8 pen with LS, which is a superior game to 6D/1.5 pen with no surrender. But the problem with the Marina is they don't have a lot of low-limit tables, so you're less likely to find a dealer cutting deep.

I mean the area in front of the high roller room. That section is no MS entry while the rest is not. I wouldn't touch the high roller room, it's never crowded, and the limits are very high from what I can see. At night, those tables outside the high roller room get serious action. On Thursday night, they had 6 reserved tables for high rollers. There were other $100 tables besides those reserved, so I really wasn't worried about heat there. The problem with wonging at night is that all the lower stakes tables are completely full.

Auto, i think those pen numbers at Marina are inflated. I didn't play those tables but it didn't seem that good to me. Also, i'm curious why you think that the 8D game you described is betting than the 6D game w/ no LS?

Also, at the marina, you need to ask for a table to include LS, AND everyone at the table must agree to it before they add LS. Dumbest thing ever and a hassle if you're wonging a lot.

actually, the area directly in front of the high roller room is no mid shoe, but the pit next to that (closer to the elevators) does allow MSE.

The 8D game with LS has a 7% higher SCORE than the 6D game without LS, which means you will make 7% more money. Also the Borgata isn't very friendly to backcounters, seems like all the tables are either NMS or full. But the Marina can be crowded too. I've gotten into some good games in both stores in the middle of the night.

The pen figures in CBJN are provided by someone being paid by Stanford Wong to monitor conditions. My observation has been that you really want to see the games being dealt for yourself; sometimes I've been disappointed and sometimes I've been pleasantly surprised. The store could have changed their pen policy very recently, or either you or the reporter could have either made a mistake or just been there on a very good or very bad pen day.

Why would anyone object to including LS? If you don't like it, don't play it!

.. Oops! I forget .. it probably messes with "THE FLOW".

Some people actually think it hurts their chances to win. They somehow think giving half your bet back to casino is a losing strategy

Sometimes taking half your bet BACK is a good strategy. Maybe it's like "half full" or "half empty".

I think you're right! The one time I played with surrender, nobody complained, but when I surrendered, people looked at me like I was crazy.

Besides that, surrender is un-american! You never saw John Wayne surrender.
