Two cards at a time, therefore 52 flips

I'm adding {-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4} to the running count. My current range is 40 - 45 seconds. Still too high? What would be an acceptable range?

One of my rituals is to back count a few shoes without buying in just to warm up. I've been counting steadily for decades.

40-45 seconds for 2 decks sounds about right. Million Dollar Blackjack, an older book with good training techniques explained, gives guidelines of 25 seconds for a single deck and 90 seconds for four decks. Those are time requirements for a three-level count. Just be sure you are proficient enough to keep up in the real casino environment.
