CSM's

#1
Iv just got a few questions about these, i know that i shouldnt be playing on tables with csm's but thats the only bj tables at conrad (there are no other casinos around). there are 6 decks.

1. do these machines only shuffle the hands after each round ?
2. do the cards get put to the back or mixed in with the 6 decks?
3. does this machine make it too difficult to track cards?

  • 1. Question makes no sense as stated.
  • 2. Mixed immediately and continuously
  • 3. Card Counting and Shuffle Tracking are NOT plausible.

If it is the only game that you can get to, take up a new hobby.

AK suited -

1. I think shoe games are also available at Jupiters casino. There are about 2 of them, with AU$25 minimum betting. Not sure about the exact penetration, but it seems that they reshuffle before the last deck.

2. They use Shuffle Master. Do a search for it on Google.

3. Why even bother to think about the idea of card counting with a CSM? Card counting is based on remaining cards / discarded cards as with a shoe game, while a CSM recycles all cards 100%. Simply put, if you could count cards with a CSM, then all fundamentals for card counting would be overthrown and the game of BJ would enter into a new era - worth being mentioned on the Discovery Channel.

While FLASH is pretty much accurate, there are slight modifications I would like to add.

1. The cards are usually placed in a discard and then placed into the CSM after a couple rounds of play. (Not always immediate, which in theory can make in countable, albeit with EXTREMELY low penetration).

2. From my understanding of CSMs, although it may not be accurate, they are actually mixed slugs. The cards that are then dealt out are dealt from a random slug inside of the CSM. This means that the cards that were just placed inside of the CSM will not be dealt out in the round immediately after insertion.

3. Agreed with FLASH (at least in the tracking sense). CC is possible, but once again, the penetration is way too small. Plausible? Yes. Worth it? No.
