dealer shuffle in casino games.

For some reason, i can't seem to remember, in an 8 deck shoe, when the shoe is done, does the dealer take all the cards and wash them on the table, and then begin to shuffle? Or does he just take the cards remaining in the shoe, add them to the discards, and then just start the shuffle from there?

For some reason, from all the tables i've sat at, i can not remember this situation.

I KNOW that when you first sit at a table, the dealer washs 4 dcks, then washs the other 4 decks, then begins to shuffle...i'm talking about after a shoe, and people still want to play...does he wash, or just get right to the shuffle.

thanks in advance.

The only time I've see a wash is either when the table is first opened for the day or when new cards are brought in. Normally after a shoe ends, the cards are stripped, riffled and cut with no wash.
