Who cares, Vegas is rigged and run by the mob. The guy in the OP is gonna fail and so is his future teammate. Not many people can beat this game straight up. Im one of the few ones and I'm cursed and been cheated. Just let that sink in about how good I am. No, Im not a narcissist.

... and so are the BJ authors, system sellers, and notable BJ teams; whole thing's a setup!
... even this discussion board laden with online casino ads offering unbeatable sucker trap games; where does it all end?

I have a bankroll as large as I’d like it to be. I have a real job that pays well and I’ve saved up more than most people have saved in a lifetime. I haven’t brought my bankroll to the table yet. I’m new to this and I’ve just been playing low stakes games counting the cards and making playing deviations without spreading my bets(I have spread but I don’t anymore for the time being). Im not comfortable at the table yet and won’t be spreading my bets until I am. When I do bring my bankroll to the table it will be a beginners BR of around 3k. With my low bankroll I’ll have to play crowded tables with less desirable rules. If and only if I am successful and confident will I bring a 5 figure bankroll into play. So, no, I haven’t made money but I haven’t lost either. I’m doing this the way it’s supposed to be done. I’ve heard too many stories of people jumping into it without enough understanding or practice and losing money. As for your take on casinos, that concerns me a bit. I don’t give casinos the benefit of the doubt but maybe it’s just negative variance. When the ASM shuffles the cards it doesn’t know how many people will sit down at the table or if someone with hit or stand. So, if they are stacking the shoe in favor of the house the count would have to rise and never come back down so they would be putting a lot of high cards on the bottom of the shoe and cut them out of the game.
This shows a fairly well reasoned approach that's frankly kind of refreshing. (Just disregard Zenking). I think it's a little early for you to form/join a team (you need some experience and such first), but if you have a balanced approach as you go into all this you may well be quite successful. Just don't make the mistake of not playing anonymously early on. Keep your name pure!

(Also, don't quit your day job!)

What people fail to advise the OP is yes play unrated to not burn your name for small stakes, but don't fall into the trap of handing over your ID when they hassle you for it saying they need to check your age because if you do so, playing unrated was useless. Don't let them scare you into giving your id, it's one huge bluff. You'll know when it's heat and not an honest request to ask for id. If they ask for ID in a pleasant way as soon as you join the table, it's likely to ask for age, unless the pit comes from out of no where as soon as you jump into the table after backcounting. If a suit comes from the floor and stops you for id, that's obvious heat and do not be threatened to give ID.

Hey all, I'm a part-time counter from Northern NJ. 2-3 weekends a month I go to either a PA Casino or else Atlantic City. I would like to join up with 1-2 others and am fine going through a ton of vetting. Been counting for about 18 months now and never got any heat. The issue is the earnings per hour are too low as just 1 person and I don't want to go from betting $25 per hand to two $300/hand bets when the TC is high - just way too obvious.

Anyone have any good suggestions?

Yes. Buy yourself a dog, a pair of sunglasses and a white cane. A tin cup wouldn't hurt, either.

You realize that three people betting the same won't increase your winnings cuz you'll have three mouths to feed? What big bet are you using now?

I'd plan on using a spotter system so 1 or 2 others sit down when the deck is hot. Spotter would play $25/hand, other guys maybe $100/hand. And I like early mornings when tables are less full. I'm great at math and spreadsheets, etc. Have an accounting degree and Masters in Finance.
