Why was kinda of curious about "card eating" by placing minimum bets in negative counts just to see what it could do for your WR. But im not sure if the majority of casinos make you double or even triple your bets when speading to multiple hands. If you vote "other" please explain.

Yes and No

The most common thing I've seen is, at the lower min. tables you do have to double the bet. At middle-to-higher limit tables, you do not. And regarding three hands -- you generally must bet 5 times the minimum.

I think its because the table minimum is not actually the average bet that the table sees, and since in most cases, playing two hands woudl prevent a player from siting at the table and playing, they offset the l;oss of that players by forcing you to bet more than the minimum since the average players average vet is more than the minimum.. I think it is a fair rule.

The requirment to doujble min for 2 hands seems to be farily common outside of LV and AC, in my experience.

The rule that bothers me is not being allowed to spread to 2 hands at a NMS table, as they consider it the same as another player coming in.

I saw that at The New Phoenix in Wash. 2X min for two hands and 5X for three.

Don't know about the higher limits though.

Thanks, for all the votes! The more votes the better. Not only will more votes give me a better idea what the general "rules of the thumb" is when spreading to two or more hands, but will help benefit others as well for future reference.

At the Palms my wife and I playing together were told we must each bet 2x the table minimum because we are playing from the same bankroll. Needless to say we have taken our business elsewhere.

I voted not listed because some casinos I play at allow min bet all the time, some require 2 X min bet for more than one hand, and some require the number of hands played X min bet. Usually it's the case that 2 X min bet is required. so if I spread to two hands at a plus count, I will sometimes put in half of the required bet and let the dealer or pit advise me that I must bet more, which I usually wanted to do all along since it's usually around a 1/2% advantage.
