I posted this as a question to the Wizard of Odds, but no answer yet- looking for some help:
A local casino recently introduced a blackjack variation: Double Back Jack. There's some nice features along with some crazy rules. Here's the site, which includes a strategy chart: (Dead link: http://www.doublebackjack.com/)
I dislike the basic premise, which is the additional bet to "rescue" your hand by getting an extra card and subtracting it from your total, since the original bet only pushes on a win. I like the instant win on all 21s, and that naturals are paid 2 to 1, but can't figure if it is enough to overcome the negatives built into the game. A big plus for the house is that the dealer doesn't lose on 22- it pushes all remaining hands.
