Planning on hitting some of the eastern Pa casinos over the next couple weeks. Parx, Harrah-Chester, Sands, Mt airy and Sugarhouse. It has been over a year since I have visited any of these sites. (summer of 2010 just after table games began and the first week that Sugarhouse opened) Quite frankly they were all very crowded, which is an important factor to me. I like to play $25 tables that are not completely full. Preferably 1 or 2 other players and have other available tables with empty seats to be able to jump to, which I couldn't find much of at that time. Am I going to have any better luck now that these places have been open a while (with tables games) and the newness of it has died down or am I wasting my time? Appreciate any recent info anyone wants to share (or the board or in private) about conditions weekday, morning, afternoon or evening and when would be the best time for what I am seeking. I am not inquiring about rules or penetration, I have a pretty good feel for that, although appreciate anything you want to offer. I am specifically interested in how crowded these venues are these days.

I am also thinking about Del Park. Do they have anything worth playing at anytime of the week?

x2 Both have decent games. I will be at Mt Airy around Thanksgiving time for the first time myself.

Sands is usually very crowded, at least the lower limit side. Was there recently on a week day evening. 15 dollar min, with probably 8 tables. At some point they opened up more (8pm ish?) Dealer on the slow side. At times, they have only 25 min tables. They always have some HL tables, usually have one/two player per table, with lots empty tables. NMSE on HL.
8 decks ASM. 1.5 cut off
HL 6 deck, hand shuffle, dealer dependent....
no "even money" have to put up full insurance.
If you're asian, probably a plus.....

Addendum: that was for sands not mt ay. Was very tired when I posted.
The reason for no even money I think partly just to throw you off and make you come up more money... Just a thought.

What's the difference? Are you simply saying that they won't ask you if you want even money, so you have to go through the motions of taking insurance?

I have only been to HC enough to comment. I think what you are looking for is in the mid afternoon on weekdays. They open a lot of tables at that time and the $25 tables are never crowded, I don't play them so I don't pay close attention to them. The ones in not in the HL area are not crowded at this time as they are in the process of opening 6 or more $15 tables. I would skip DP and consider Dover Downs. No LS but all are 6D.

Somewhere I heard a casino needs permission from the gaming commission to offer even money, but anyone can take insurance. That rule was either for VEgas or AC, don't remember, but in the case of AC, there is no more gaming commission.

The casinos aren't nearly as crazily busy as when they first opened.

In most of these casinos, you can find uncrowded $25 tables, and quite frequently empty/near empty tables almost all of the time. Sands being the biggest exception.

Stay away from Airy. I was backed off there after a couple of times playing the $25 tables. I was only spreading to 8 and they still got me.

Being that there is no other casino in town, how would multiple short sessions go over, with say, an hour of VP in between? .
