Have been trawling this now for 3 nights running and can't find my answer. If another one thread does this, can you point to it?

I have identified an online bookmaker (with attending casino) who's bonus system is very interesting. In return for a wagering requirement of £1375 they'll give you £25. So a single deck, no das, double 9,10,11 no peek stand all 17 game has a h/a of 0.22%. So, -0.0022*£1375=-£3.03. Yup you've noticed - then they'll give me £25! There's 2 catches though:

* You can only do it once a month!
* You register when depositing for the first time in the month. If you re-deposit (too small buy-in) you lose the bonus.

If I played the above game, can you give me a good initial buy-in so as to avoid bankruptcy? From estimation I'd say £90 (£1 betting)

Are you sure about that? I recognise your description, apart from that detail.

If it's the place that I think it is, then I think you might find it a bit too slow to play through at £1 per hand.

If your trying to avoid a redeposit, and there is no problem withdrawing from your account when you're ready... I would deposit 150 to 175 units to be safe?

There is a third catch of course. The natural variance of the game is such that you're unlikely to be smack on your EV after 1375 hands. It's not a sure route to £21.97. Well worth taking a look at this page too:

The 2nd point is the best I can make of some slightly labyrinthine t+cs, I calculated it 'conservatively' as I've been caught out by vague descriptions in bonus systems before. If you are already using this bonus system and found redepositing is ok, let me know.

Have i got this right - it would not be exactly 1375 hands because of doubles and splits? Also I'm just pondering the averages at the mo. I'll be running some sims over the next few days.

At 150 hands per hour (my current rate - i've been practicing for counting purposes - I know you can't count online but I'm just practicing the 'numerics' and things such as strategy mods.*) 1375 hands would take just over 9 hours. I have a month to do it as well. As the version allows 3 concurrent hands then it can be speeded up mut might be riskier.

* Every time the cards are dealt I throw 2 ten-sided (0-9) dice and deduct the red from the green. That number is used as the current true count.

Yes, that's the one (I think!). Unless you've used the same name to register with the casino as with this forum, I don't think there is any reason not to identify the casino. I don't want to blurt it out against your wishes, though.

You actually activate the bonus not by depositing, but by transferring an amount (however small) into the casino 'book' from Sports or Poker. I've only ever made one initial deposit (which goes into the sports book by default), and one withdrawal. I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure I've had to move further funds from Sports to Casino on occasion, having run out, while working towards a bonus.

The wagering requirement used to be a lot smaller. As you have noted, it will take a long time to work through at £1 per hand.

You might want to consider playing three hands at once; it would speed things up slightly (with bigger swings in your bankroll, admittedly), and it will also give you the chance to make a small dent in the house edge through some strategy variations. That scarcely makes a difference financially (just reducing the £3.03 you've identified by a pound or two), but you might find it makes the whole process seem a bit less tedious.

With careful timing, you can also make maximum use of the 10% rebate offer they are currently running. Rebates are paid at the end of the month, whereas the bonus wagering period is 30 days from the point when you start it; so if you are substantially behind, it is worthwhile to wait for the rebate before completing the wagering and receiving the bonus.
