Feedback on Omega II ?

I was am still waiting for my next 3 books (blackbelt,blueprint & bluebook2) and was jonesing for more reading so I stopped into a Reno bookstore today and picked up "Blackjack for Blood" I am almost finished with it.

So far I think it is a good book. However I am wondering what others think about the omega system Carlson so adamantly stands behind?

I notice that it is way behind in the poll.

BJFB is a Great Book!

The Ao2 system, is strong for Single a DoubleDeck. However Hi-opt2, is just as strong and quite a bit easier. Primarily because its an eight point count(opposed to a nine point) and the nine is dropped. The Ace SideCount takes a long-time to master, and isnt neccessarily worth it. Wong-halves is almost as strong as Ao2, and Hi-opt2 in Single and DoubleDeck, while quite a bit stronger for MD.

Ive learned its not the system you use, but how well you can use it. Being a BJ master is one thing, but knowing how to make money is completely another.;)

Yeah, it seems that Bryce is always talking about SD. Is this because the book is older?, when SD was more prevalent?

Regardless, I finished the book and thought it was great. I got a better feeling about camoflage etc.,(I think I will get some gold chains , lol) just more amo for my arsenal. .

The last chapter on his program was a bit strange. It should be a separate manual. imo

UPS should have my next three books tomorrow (Monday) after that I will reassess what other books to get and most likely get the Casino Verite SW and start getting familiar with it.

Beyond that I have made over 600 flash cards for various game versions with indices etc. and can fly through 2D accurately.

I was studying just SD but found my fav casino have been cutting back on SD so I started learning 6D BS and all the variations as well. So I am basically learning BS for all variations of 1D and 6D. I think it is the only way to go, since if you seea good SD game you should not pass it up (if all conditions are right) and 6D is just so common it seems to be a staple of any BJ CC. ?IMO

Thanks again for all the guidance; thus far it has been invaluable.

Very inspirational.

Sounds as if you're on your way to mastering BJ.
Enjoy your next few books. They're xlnt as well.

Yes the parlay story is a good lesson in $management/avoiding ruin.

I have been working with HiLo but am open to others. Do any pros use HILo? I suppose if I have the HiLo count mastered then i can alter it to another system fairly easily? yea? Nea? (sp.)

I suppose the other possibilities (for me) may be KO or Kiss ?? from what little I know about them.

I think after reading the next 3 books I get this week I will have more to think about.

I thought I went through 2d fast counting HiLo.
I just timed it and am around ~75 seconds.
Back to work!

AO2 is obsolete. And the betting scheme in the book fatally flaws the whole system.
Go with Mentor in BJBlueB. Or ZEN which is very similar to AO2 except the 9 and Ace tags are reversed. zg

Hello. I've been using AO2 for a little while now and have become attached to it, but I'd certainly like to try to improve my game. Can you please elaborate on why you think AO2 is obsolete? I admit I've struggled with the betting scheme. I don't follow his cover betting suggestions, and I'm not quite sure when to make the betting steps for 3 units or more? I'd very much appreciate any help.
