Finally making it to Vegas

I'll be in Vegas on Wed the 17th. I prefer single or maybe double deck game. Where are some good places to play both on the strip and downtown?

I am not a high roller, just want to have some fun and maybe make a little cash.

Do any casino's pay 3 to 2 on BJ or are all 6 to 5 . it has been 2 years since I was in Las Vegas.

I have been practicing counting and I know the basic strategy pretty well. I'll try to count but I might get nervous in a real game and if the game is moving fast.

Thanks

Only 3-2 SD game in Vegas is at El Cortez. If your counting is up to snuff, you are better off playing their face up DD game. Just don't do something silly like try to go from one hand of $3 to two hands of $50 and you'll be fine.

If playing LV, it would behoove you to spring for a copy of CBJN.

Not much low rolling on the strip, especially for DD. Hit the locals' joints.

Hey , if ya want to Low Roll for a day , take a trip to Laughlin.... Lots of stuff there!
Plus a neat trip if you have never been there....Its only 90 miles south of vegas...
Plus on the way there is Searchlight which has a few small casinos, and Calnevari, which has one...hmm cant remember if they have bj there or not....
Anyways a cool drive through the desert

Doesn't B-i-n-i-o-n's have one 3-2SD table? I seem to rememeber leaving there with a Kennedy last time...
I don't believe so, but Binions operations are quite fluid. They do offer 3-2 Bj, but not SD, as far as I know.

How about one hand of $5 to two hands of $60 on their SD? Not that I would ever be so brash.........

We visited the Pawn Shop recently. Very small place. Suggest going early in AM on weekday. Passed by several times later in the day and there were lines out the door. We asked if any of the TV personalities ever came around, and were told they were usually there, but stayed in the back. So crowded that we wondered how they handle filming. The place looks fairly empty on TV.

CathyRas... Unless it has changed recently, that single decker at Binions restricted double downs to totals of 10 and 11 only, so not really that great. El Cortez lets you double on any 1st 2 cards, so go there for best game in town if you are jonesing for single deck action.

Back home from vacation and Vegas.

The Blackjack gods were NOT shining down on me this time around. Glad I am a low roller so my losses were manageable

We spent some time walking around the strip and checking out a few casinos. Played a decent game of single deck at Caesars Palace. Checked out the forum shops. Found a cool memorabilia place.

South Point was a very decent hotel only paid $42 for the room. The casino was okay, no single deck but some double which was ok. I had one really good dealer who was very slow in gathering the cards after each hand. It was easy to count.

I followed the basic strategy and counted as best as I could. In the end I left some money in Las Vegas but had fun and didn't lose all my cash!

Already planning on going back again soon.
