First Trip to Vegas

Hey folks, my first trip to vegas is coming up very soon. i've been playing BJ for about 6 months now and AP'ing for about 3, so i feel like this is the weekend that all my trips to the local casino have been preparing me for.

i already know where ill be staying, but not quite sure on where ill be playing.

Would like to get people's " Favorite Itineraries" if anyone cares to share :)

please note this doesn't have to be all-inclusive of blackjack. I'm also a poker player and im kinda excited about touristy fun as well.

if you have info that you dont care to share with the world, it doesnt have to be in a public post, it can be in a PM.

AND if anyone who would particularly like to meet up (you know who you are), PM me and we can try to arrange something. I unfortunately couldn't make the BASH due to family events, but i value the blackjack community on this website and i owe much of my knowledge here to many of you.

had a great weekend, but still down about 2k after around 10 hours of play. .

i really couldnt get any good counts in shoe games, although i recovered nicely (somewhat) from double deck. and... i got backed off from the El Escortez. i started a few other threads on the weekend experiences

i am definitely going back though. i loved the beatable rule-sets (im used to mediocre rules), but i kind of wish the tables were a little bit more wongable. There is tremendous peer pressure to play-all and thats just not going to work for me.

Surprised to hear that you liked it enough to go back. The games in Vegas aren't that great. Casino Player rates all the games in the US in its May edition and no Vegas casino made the top eight in the country.

The advantage of Vegas is quantity of games. Rules are mediocre but there are many playable games and conditions are generally not crowded, which is good for table hopping and wonging. If you play in the midwest or back east, you may drive for several hours and have a choice of one casino, which is often too crowded to do anything but play all.

I know you say that in jest, but having lived in Both Vegas and a humid east coast city, Philadelphia, I believe a humid 92 degree day in Philly to be much worse than a 105 degree day in Vegas. Too much is made of the temperatures, IMO. :rolleyes: I like to knock off 12-15 degree and that is what it feels like to me. Days in the mid to upper 90's feel like 85 back east. It isn't until you push up into the mid 100's that it starts to feel really hot. Equivilent to 90's back east. If it is 105 or more, just don't go for long walks in the sun between noon and 4pm. :cool: Also unlike back east, if you do find a shady area, it really feels much cooler without that humidity. You can sit in the shade very comfortably even at high temperatures.

BTW, we have yet to experience a 100 degree day this year, it has been very pleasant in the 80's and low 90's while the rest of the country has baked in the humid mid 90's. :)

Lucky you. We've had three days at 95+ degrees with more than ample humidity in the last week. Today much nicer, in the 70's.

Yep! Was joking! Here in the Midwest we had 97 degrees and near 100% humidity this week! I would gladly take you 120 dry heat.

Casino Player top 8 blackjack games in USA

There are two casinos in northern Nevada. The other casinos to make list of top blackjack games were San Diego’s Barona casino, Coushatta, L’Auberge du Lac and Paragon in Louisiana and Silver Slipper and Treasure Bay in Mississippi.
You can actually find this magazine online for free. Just Google Casino Player May 2011.
