I know that the wrong time to go during the wk end but.......

Whats the "best" casino to play at?

What about parking? I am staying with my gf and her brother and wife in egg harbor, I will be doing the "late night shift" And was curious about parking and if there were any shuttles from eggharbor to AC.

Also the probably the most important, I have heard yrs, and yrs ago stay on the strip no matter what How bad is it there at night? I don't want to get rolled, I can handle my own, but not if I get jumped by 3-4 people, I am no Bruce Lee

AC is a zoo in the summer on the weekends. Best game at Borgata - all 6 deck.
Resorts has a few 6 deck tables with $25 (and up) min. High roller pits (mostly $100 and up) also 6 deck other places. Otherwise all 8 deck. Watch out for a few houses (Ballys, for example) with H17. Most places are S17. All the hotels have parking garages - some free, if you have a player's card (Total Rewards, etc,) some $5.

I'm not aware of a shuttle from Egg Harbor. Once in AC, you can walk the boardwalk (safe, but there are some beggars, etc. roaming around.) It's better than it used to be as some slums a block or two in from the boardwalk are gone and replaced with shopping. Borgata is in the Marina area and you will need transporation. Take a Jitney for $2 or a taxi.

If you stick to the popular tourist areas,it is quite safe.
I've walked all over town late at night and only once felt uncomfortable. It was around 3Am on a backstreet in mid winter.

I believe Bally's is still S17 in the main casino, but in the Wild Wild West they are H17 except on the Lucky Ladies tables. Showboat is the same way. You have to really look before you sit down.

Note: Taxi from Borgata to Caesars will cost around $12. Jitney is $2; but you have to know where it picks up/ drops off. To get $5 off at the Borgata, you must be "Black Label" status to get free parking; which required playing, or, if you have premium card at another casino, you can get "black label" from Borgata.

Not odd. New Years 2006 and 2007; Harrahs properties' Ceasars, Wild West, Ballys (close to cigar booth and cage), and Claridge (ground floor) had several hit s17 tables at their 15, 25, and few 50 limits. All $100+ tables had stand s17. Of course, they periodically change the cloths of the tables at their discretion; but i have avoided them

Many,if not most, casinos have a variety of games, with different rules within the same casino_Only odd thing is a guy with your experiance not knowing this.

I was at Caesars earlier this week. All the tables I saw were S17.

I'm heading into AC for the first time tomorrow morning. Is borgata still the best game? If it is, I assume that mean's 6 deck, 80% pen, DAS, S17, ES?, resplit except for aces. Please let me know if that's not right and if any other casinos there offer these rules.

Additionally, will they give me a room on a Wednesday for say, $50 average blackjack bet for 12 hours?

if anyone is in town, send me a PM.

Thanks.

ES? Keep dreaming!

Otherwise, yes, it's the best game in town. Pen has been a bit weaker lately.

Sign up for a comp card. With that level of betting, you should be good for a room. Talk to one of the PCs. Hosts there only deal with big money.

Thanks. I remember hearing that they can't kick you out for counting, or other advantage play, but can change the game to entice you to leave. that accurate? I just got banned at foxwoods so i'm a little gun-shy.

Correct. They can reshuffle on you, give you 50% pen, and force you to flat bet table minimum. It's happened to me a few times and I'm definitely more paranoid than I used to be.

All of that is the same as banning in my mind, so it doesn't matter. Last question I promise, but do you think I should call ahead to book a room or play for awhile then ask what they'll do for me. I'm pretty sure my play will qualify me, but not sure of the best approach. I also will have a travel bag with me that i'm not sure what i can do with.

Leave your travel bag in your car (assuming you're not taking a bus) in the parking garage. If needed, you can check it at the bell desk.

If it were me, I'd call up for the reservation, check in, plan to pay for it, then see if I can get it for free based on play. Although it is a weekday, summer is high season in AC.

If you have history at harrahs

If you have a good betting history at Harrahs/Caesars i can get a room in AC you can take a cab to Borgata if that is where you want to play. worth a shot and my friends love it when i turn good players on to them.

Out of curiosity, where do your friends work?
If it is at Harrahs, why would they love you getting a room for someone gambling elsewhere?
If its at Borgota, why not get the room there?

The simple fact is that everyone who signs up for a Harrahs Total Reward card will get free room postcards, good for a midweek room.

Harrahs

They work for Harrahs but also take a chance a new player because he might just stay on property and not get in the cab and go to Borgata. They have always been great to me and anyone I send their way...just trying to help both sides...player and rep.
