Has anyone talked their way out of a backing off?

Has anyone ever tried to argue their way out of a backing off? It seems like if you made enough of a seen and made the PB uncomfortable enough you could make him start to wonder whether or not you were actually counting.

Obviously it wouldn't matter much because if they let you play again they would realize you were counting but just wondering if anyone ever tried.

it doesn't work in 99%+cases.

but I am aware of couple of cases where it has worked..

I've found the longer I draw out the talking the more likely they are to call security, which just makes things messier (encouraging them more to get your license plate #, fax your info to other casinos, etc.).

Once they've made the choice, it's made. However, I have talked/acted my way out after being 1 hand away from backed off multiple times, even gotten comps out of it.

Have to agree with Lonesome Gambler here.

Because of the short sessions style that I play, I have experienced very limited backoffs, but the few that I have encountered, I just move on as quickly and quietly as possible. Don't even cash out at that time. I don't want to do anything that makes me or the incident any more memorable than possible. Also don't want to give them any additional opportunity to document, including photograph anything. Just move on.

Once the decision is made, and it probably isn't made by the person backing you off, it's highly unlikely anything you say could change their mind. In the extraordinary event that you did talk them into a reprieve, you would be on a very short leash and are only delaying the inevitable anyway, meanwhile they are watching you closely, which goes back to the attention point earlier.

I really see no advantage in doing anything but leaving quickly and quietly.

One time in a very small club I was mistaken for a trespassed player, and I thought there was going to be a rodeo. But I talked enough that the PC just told me "Stop counting the cards!" and I was allowed to play for a few more shuffles while they figured out what to do. When I left under my own power with a bunch of their money, they thanked me.

Another time I talked another player out of a backoff in LV. A player was jumping in and out of my table, and during my backoff the PC told me this guy was my partner. He was not my partner and I didn't know if he was an AP or not. But being he might be, and I visit LV once a year at best, it is dulce et decorum for me to take a bullet for another AP, so I copped to being an AP and explained this guy had nothing to do with me and that I believed he was not a skilled player, and the PC seemed to accept that.

My first visit to Wild Wild West in Vegas, I was mistaken for a banned player.
Pit boss came up and told me I had a hell of a nerve coming back. I thought he was joking until I realized I was surrounded by their entire security detail of some six guards. I said i'd never been there before and after producing picture id and having a half dozen credit cards and government ids to back it up, he apologized and bought me a beer.

Also, I recall on one occasion trying to talk a pit boss out of backing dyepaintball off...
