Just wondering if anyone has used the 2-1-2-3-4-5 betting method to any success. Bet 2 units if win, go down to one, if win return to 2, adding one unit if a win. In a loss return to original two units till three consecutive losses.

Just found this board so I may have more questions later.:eyepatch:

I wish everyone reading a joyous Christmas and a great new year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Computer simulations prove that there is NO BETTING METHOD that has any validity whatsoever UNLESS you are counting cards. Now I have a question for you, BJWichita - do you know correct basic strategy for BJ?? zg

Yes, I play perfect bs. I have tinkered with counting. I've noticed at the tables people play bj so poorly from not knowing bs they get murdered!!!

What about flat betting ????????????? Is that what you're suggesting is more successful if I do not care to count ??

That would be "more successful" IF you bet less resultantly... because if the house has the edge you WILL LOSE over the long-haul. So bet less and LOSE LESS! zg

Okay, you convinced me! You are not who I thought you were. I have a friend who favors that betting system and has tried everything to get me to commit to it. It is fun to play at times but Played long enough, you are going to do no better than flat betting.

Yeah, I'm from around Wichita...Andover to be specific. We need to be pulling for the legislature to pass exceptions so that we can get a casino down in Wellington or up north. Sumner county passes a vote two to one in favor of getting a casino down there. Up north, I think it was Marion county just passed it by a few votes. Neither of those polls were binding. They are just an indicator to give ex-mayor Knight some leverage in getting a bill passed in Topeka to allow the casino(s) to be built off indian reservations.

Gotcha, yeah it is silly that Top. has three in its area and we don't have one. Knight is trying his hardest I know. Gotta feeling we will have one soon near Ta town. I wished Harrahs in Top. would open up a full time 5 min. shoe game. Seems as thought they know they have a corner on the market if you know what I mean. :whip: :whip:5

Translation: High min. bets, double deck games with crap ass 6/5 bj, only DD on 11. AND STILL IDIOTS LINE UP TO PLAY AAHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, don't stop at Harrah's north of Topeka. Continue up highway 75 to Sac & Fox for some pretty decent rules on a 6-deck game (S-17 primarily). It's only 26 miles up the road....but they don't have hotels or motels close to the casinos there.

I have had some success with a similar betting strategy betting 5-2-3-3-4-5 and quitting or changing tables after 4 straight losses. In addition I will walk away after winning 25% of my BR (or less if I am getting tired). I follow Basic Strategy with a couple of minor execeptions (I know I am wrong to do what I do but just feel more comfortable with my modifications ) to wit: I will not hit a 16 except against and A; I will not hit 15 except against a 7,8 or A; and I will only double down or split Aces against a 4,5 or 6.

Now do I knock them dead doing this? No!! But more often than not I walk away with a profit.

Those are some pretty expensive changes to basic strategy. You really should reconsider them. Changing those few plays will make a big difference in the chances you'll leave the casino as a winner.

Why in the hell would you feel "more comfortable" making statistically inferior plays? What sort of inane reasoning do you labor under?... AND why is it that you suppose that playing WRONG allows you to come out ahead"overall"? I really want to know the answers to these questions Bogeyman. zg

While there are a few plays in BS I am uncomfortable with,my New years Resolution is to stick to it 100%.No more doubling for less on A/6,A/7,my biggest deviation.
What always puzzles me is peoples aversion to splitting Aces. The same people who never hesitate to double down 11 against almost anything suddenly get gun shy when dealt two 11s.
