honestly guys, why does it seem like blackjack is rigged?

Selective memory

Tarzan the dealer gets good hands at the same frequency as you do. The cards dont know where they are headed. A lot of people just starting out think when you have an advantage you have a better chance at good cards than the dealer. Neither statement is true. Two factors that are key, you lose your bust to a dealer bust. You dont have to play your stiffs but the dealer does. If you think the cards give the dealer great hands more often you are also a victim of selective memory.

I had a dealer getting so many blackjacks that I accidentally tried to insure a ten up card thinking here comes another blackjack.
Yep, had the feeling too of wanting to insure with a 10 upcard too ;)

Going with the flow

Tthree, just go with the flow and allow me to have my fun with this! Okay, bottom line is you only see one dealer card and this is where the advantage lies, which ALLOWS for the dealer to avoid breaking because you are going to do it first, etc., so in essense the dealer gets more wins/ more hands than you. "Hey! Let's jump over a cliff together!" "Uhm... sure thing... You go first!" sort of thing. I was avoiding those pesky details and sticking to cards flying out of anuses, which makes for a more interesting story...

If the casino did not have a definitive advantage in a given casino game it would not exist and they don't even need any cards inserted anyplace extra to have that built in house advantage in the various games of chance offered in a casino... unless they are greedy AND kinky.

When the dealer whips your butt why not return the favor

I just wanted to make sure people didnt believe the ploppy myth. Your post was quite humorous. We all get our butts whipped at a large advantage occasionally. If people say they dont they either are a liar, havent played that much, or have been very very lucky. It hurts to lose max bet many times in a sitting. I think my butt is still sore from the last time it happened to me.

Hmm, at this point it seems EXTREMELY likely that you're either being cheated or you aren't calling for cards loudly enough. Have you tried spitting and cursing and verbally abusing the dealer? That seems to affect the outcome as well.
Beg early and often!

Ever notice how when the dealer has a ten showing, he ALWAYS has a ten in the hole? This is simply because all of you ploppies sitting around the table are BELIEVING that the dealer has a ten in the hole. I try imagining that he has a six in the hole. This seems to work sometimes. Try it. I'm still working on how to keep him from drawing a five for twenty-one, It calls for two separate beliefs in quick succession.

Did anyone when they were a kid believe that if they concentrated hard enough they could walk through a solid wall? Or fly? Did anyone succeed?

Just yesterday, dealer showed 10, and a solid ploppy, out of character decided not split AA and instead hit. He then gets 3 and 6 for a 21. Two other players remained in the hand with 20. So looking at these cards and what just happened, I "knew" that the dealer had to have a 20, and all the players at the table agreed, some were even offering to bet $25 dealer definitely had a 20, and I didn't feel like taking this bet!

Guess what dealer had 20

OK off to the vodoo section for this thread.

It's a lot better bet than pushing max bet out with a +20 count. Voodoo purgatory for you! :whip::devil:

:angel:Sorry, you can't get into Voodoo purgatory that easy. You'll have to do something really bad, like progression:devil: betting.

today dealer pulled a 21 six times(!) in row, and after that 5 times a 20 (10-10). guess what, the table was empty after 10min... i was the only one who stayed because i played minimum bets. :D

If you don't mind me asking, what was the count? Sounds like a good time to wong out, and it certainly wasn't a positive count if you had min bet out.

all this happened in a czech casino. and yeah, the count was negative (TC -1). still, i decided to play 5€ minimum bets because i just wanted to experience this "worst case scenario", i.e. what happens if you don't wong out at the right time.

luckily for me, i got 2x BJ and 2x 20 in these series of the game, so the total loss for those 11 games was 20€. no big deal as i continued playing at another hot shoe (10€ minimum bet) and eventually made some good profit for the day. :)
