How hard is getting a room comped for a weekend?

I am traveling to Vegas next week and would love to save some money on lodging of its possible.

Can I just bring 4-8k and expect to be comped somewhere?

I'd also like more recent playing conditions, maybe pm me if needed. I'm looking for DD, single if they have it 3/2, and maybe some shoe games. Minimum bet 25 or less

Suggestions for my first Vegas trip with an adequate br? I play green chips

I wouldn’t bank on getting a room comped with that kind of action. They see green chippers constantly so you won’t be big news. If they do like you, they’ll send down a host and then you can try to sweet talk them. However, I only see that happening at an off strip casino where your betting hundreds over a long period of time. If your bankroll is not big enough, this is ill advised.

The size of your bankroll will depend on how large your spreads are. As a green chipper, I would prefer to have closer to $8k with me on a trip that lasts 4 days as an example. Be sure to understand the risk of losing the entire bankroll (even on a short trip). If you haven’t yet, you should be using software (CVData) to analyze risk. If you don’t, you’ll regret it later. Software makes it so that you never have to ask the bankroll size question to anyone but yourself because only you can decide what risk your willing to take.

Decent double deck can be found in a variety of places. The most well-known is the station casino properties for your level of play. They are all off strip and typically range $5 - $10 - $25 minimums.

The only good single deck that I know of at your level is at El Cortez downtown. However, if you want to experience getting backed off, this is the place that will do it the fastest. BIG SWEAT SHOP!!!

Decent games are scattered all over Las Vegas. You just have to travel to seek them out. I would never go there without a rental car.

If card counting, be extra careful on your first trip. If you get backed off at one station casino (or any other property for that matter), they will send your photo to the others and your trip will be over as quick as it started. I won’t go into detail, but you need to understand effective camo when playing rated. Don’t underestimate them or you’ll get blindsided. The last thing you want is to create long term damage to your career and future trips because you didn’t understand Las Vegas tolerance levels.

Good luck on your first trip unless you don’t need it ;).

I'd rather you wish I don't hit negative variance HA. I use cover very effectively, at least at all the other shops I've played at. If they are using the eye in the sky to analyze my bet spread in correlation to the count, I'm unsure of how to beat that. I'd prefer short sessions. If I do get backed off at El Cortez, will they spread my picture around the rest of the city?

If you do hit negative variance, make sure to analyze your play and ensure that you stuck to your game plan. If so, then it's nothing unusual and just statistical volatility. Just make sure you don't over bet if on a downswing or it could kill your bankroll. Losing is a big part of the game. Without it, you will be way above EV and math doesn't allow that over time. I hope you do hit positive flux right away though :).

When dealing with the eye in the sky, it's typically the pit that will alert them to watch you first. If they do watch you, they will tend to analyze whether or not you are a threat early in your session. This is when you should play your highest level of camo to get them to lose interest. The goal is to give them no reason to think you are a threat early on, which means they won't have a reason to look at your spread. When they let their guard down, then you hit them for the larger bets and get out. Playing shorter sessions will help as you start testing the waters. In the end, it become an art form in reading the situation and playing cover at the right time.

Chances are El Cortez won't bother taking your picture because they back off people constantly due to having the best game for lower limit players. That's not an absolute guarantee though, so if you don't want to take a chance stay away from them. They won't let you play for too long without serious cover plays anyway.

Be smart, be safe, and watch your back. Don't let people know you're carrying large amounts of cash.

Next time in Vegas, ask for the host in TI named Ken. He can be helpful in getting comps depending on your play..

What is your level of practice?
I don't quite understand the question. I've played Maybe 200 hours since using CVCX.

I mostly play DD and SD. I don't know how to hole card yet.
