How lucky can you get??

The first time I played blackjack I only knew that I needed to get 21 and that an ace could be a an 11 or a 1. I did not know to double down or anything else. I played at the $1 tables and I sat there until I won $250. The dealer said I was hot and the other players were amazed that I did not play by the rules but I won anyway. Ever since then I have never walked away from the table with less than $200 in winnings. This weekend I went to Atlantic City and won $1,700. Everyone at the table was losing and they eventually turned on me and said I was playing "my own game" and causing them to lose. I moved to another table and continued winning but they continued losing. I do not count cards and I scored an 85% on the hit or stand strategy trainer. So, are there some players that are just very lucky? The only other thing I can think of is intuition or some way of feeling what I should do next. I once walked up to a complete stranger and told her she would be celebrating a birthday in 2 weeks. She looked at me and said I must know her brother. Another time, a Dell tech support guy was giving me a case number. He gave me numbers over the phone and then apologized for saying 5 when he ment to say 9, but 9 was what I had typed in even though it was not what he said. There are many other things that have happened too. On my last two vacations I placed all my winnings in a large pile and bet them and both times I got blackjack. People at the table couldn't believe it. I know it's a stretch, but I wonder if there are other players out there that just have a feeling when they play or what appears to be lots of luck.

Yeah, for a little while. I've never heard of anyone who was lucky for a significant amount of time. That's why the casinos are so big. Everyone thinks they're lucky...until they go broke.

Maybe. Let's find out - what will the winning numbers of this week's lottery be, and which store should I go to so that the random number pick will generate that winning lottery number?

yes and no.
maybe luck, real luck is the result of what really happens when you are totally ignorant or maybe even if you think you are in the know.
the casino's chummy association with the bell curve and all makes luck appear for someone in the know (advantage players) a watered down event. but for the uninitiated luck might seem much more than it is. luck in a casino is shrouded in the statistical mystery of standard deviation, expectation and the hazy phase between the short and the long run perhaps a much differant version of luck than appears outside the casino walls.
especially so for blackjack with it's mix of dependent and independent events.
try your luck with this link and give us your views over in the voodoo forum:

Very funny

I can say one thing with certainty without using my psychic powers- you guys are funny. Okay, so I guess I have been lucky for the past 10 years which is pretty amazing. I will be at the El San Juan hotel and casino in Puerto Rico each night beginning on 10/16 - 10/26. It would be great if some of you could make it, even for a few days. Tickets should run you around $300 round trip. Drinks are free, and unlinke the watered down crap at AC, the drinks will knock you on your A$$. I plan to walk away with $5,000 on a $200 buy-in, and I will. BTW, The Intercontinental hotel next door has $3.00 tables which are fun if you don't want to place large bets.

I would like to be there if you would loan me a stake to play with and wire me some money for airfare. I promise to pay you back as soon as you win, because I will be piggy backing your bets so it won,t be a problem whatsoever. If you are intrested send me a PM. I will give you instructions on how to send the money to my P.O. Box number.

The only explanation for your posts is that you are the richest man in the world. You are, right?

You don't turn $200 into $5000 if you are psychic. If you're psychic you turn $0.01 into $25,000,000,000.

Which subtle clues would those be? Unless the dealer is pyschic,he has no more knowledge of the next card than you do.

clues from the shoes or the cards themselves

Psychics claim to get information all the time from inanimate objects so why not from the cards themselves.
For those of us with this power, there seems to be better ways to use it than winning a bit at blackjack.
For those of us without this power, cardcounting seems to be the closest we can get with our puny minds.
For those of us who just are confused easily, bringing a psyco-chick to the casino might be more interesting but less profitable than bringing a real psychic:)
