how many max bets do I need as a trip BR

So i'm playing a 6deck game using KO. H17 DOA, DAS, RSA. If i'm spreading 1-10, how many max bets is the minimum I should bring with me to not be playing with an unreasonable risk of ruin. It is a replentishable BR, or at least my take on it is to not return again to the table without this set trip BR.

Just curious what how much is necesary to not end up busting out.
 
I recommend 10-20 for a trip

When I first started out, I was spreading 1-10 at a 6 deck H17 game, and found 10 max bets to be the minimum to weather the storms and stay in the comfort zone (some sims show about 10% ROR depending on how many hours you plan on playing).

I now spread much more than 1-10, and bring over 20 max bets on any given trip to virtually eliminate my chances of tapping out (ROR of < 2%) on even the wildest of shoes. If you get down to your last couple of max bets, you're probably not going to be very confident pushing a max bet out there.
 
How long is your trip? If you're just talking an hour or two, then 10 max bets is a more common figure.

But multiple days with lots of plays is a whole different animal.

Does this hold true even with wonging nd only playing positive shoes? And-speaking of which-how does one change his spread in this situation? Keep a 1-10, or-since you're starting out at positive and always leaving on negative, go to a smaller spread with a bigger beginning bet? AND-when people talk about 'replensihable', are they giving thought to how much they can afford to lose in a given time (say, how much they can afford to lose in-say-a year?) Does this then figure into what you're BR is, or am I missing something in the math figures?

If you are not playing full-time and have another means of producing income,your BR is replenishable.

whenever i wong in i am always at least at a 2unit bet. if the count is higher i am betting accordingly. I still employ the same max bet.

But how do you determine what your bankroll is for betting purposes? In respect to figuring RoR and what max bet should be?
 
No balls...

I have been taking 10 max bets for a 1-3 hour trip ($600) but never have the balls to stay till I lose the whole thing. I know what I am supposed to do.... stay and play as long as the conditions are good. I never leave when the count is favorable, but if I am getting hammered with a tc +5 shoe with max bets over and over then I leave at the end of the shoe some times down up to $300.

Now maybe if I had the balls to start another shoe or look for another I would win that back, but it seems that I just don't have the balls. Any good stories about great or frequent come-backs?
 
Could that be the reason my BR doesn't seem to be growing, but kind of staying around the same? My winning sessions If I am up 30-40 units and the count tanks I usually leave instead of hopping to another table. Do I need to be more aggressive when winning and losing?

I used to bring $900 (90 units) to the casino. (This amount was arrived at by trial and error, rather than through some calculation. It would usually allow me to play for the 3 or 4 hours that I wanted to.) I would buy in for $200 at a time, as needed. If I got to the point where there was only that last single $100 bill left, I would only bring that out if I was in a high count, or needed it to play my hand properly. Aside from noticing that I was down to my last $100, I wouldn't know how much I had won or lost that day until I was walking out to my car, or when I got home.

You need to be justifiably confident that your counting, your BS/index plays, and your bet sizing are all good. If you are confident that you're playing at an advantage, you should play as long as you can.

I dimly recall being down about $700 during one session, but ending the session up about $700. It also seems like it was a rare day when I had to buy in only once. But that's just my impression; I never really paid much attention to that sort of thing.

I don't know about "aggressive", but play as long as you can while still sticking to the plan, whatever your plan is.

Actually, it makes more sense for me that way, given that I was curious about figuring for wonging. I will now (unless someone has a different idea) figure around this. Should help in wonging, as I can start my bets closer to my max, and not look to be ramping as much.
