How often can I play at a local casino without being barred?

As some of you know, I have never played double deck until about one month ago. Recently I just discovered a casino having DD in my driving distance. My test drive is great. Much easier to win without variance associated with 6D/8D. Because the casino has only one DD table, slmost all 7 seats are always taken. So players got to play 4 rounds for each shuffle, 5 at most. It makes spread much easier since you play two high TC hands then another shuffle comes. Thus the bet size just looks like random. Playing three times in last few days, I know I can beat them with 8 to 1 spread. I have checked three different pit bosses in different shifts. Only one was watching the table closely. When the pit boss came, I just use Basic Strategy, not indexes to guide my play, and randomized my bet size without hurting too much.

Now my question is how often can I milk the casino without being barred? I have never seen them ban anyone because most of players are ploppies who never won. I did see some counters play but no one really good. If they did not lose money, they only won a little.

Every casino is different.

Playing double deck at a full table usually is -EV. Don't judge the game by one or two sessions.

I said 4 or 5 rounds. And table is almost always full.

Maybe I should add, if the the table is full, it is definitely 4 rounds between shuffles.

I was just saying its possible to seem full and play 5. As at my casino they have seven seats but usually only 6 are played as it gets cramped.

college, OP stated 7 spots and, frankly, i wasn't trying to make anyone "look wrong" just pointing out that that is GREAT pen and i'm sittin down!

If you play 1-8 spread you should be fine. Try to limit you sessions to a couple of hours if possible. Watch for a change in the Pen! I have seen obvious counters getting away with 1-15 spreads with no problem. On the other hand, at the same casino I have seen them cut the deck in half for known counters. I have never seen anyone barred, just chased away with the change in the Pen. There aren't that many good DD games available, so the advice I have been given is to keep it to yourself. If you run the sims on DD vs. 6D you'll never want to play 6D again. MM

I know. After a little taste of DD, I will never play 6D game.

It is just like day vs. night. 90% of 6D game is a waste of time.

I made slightly over $100k in 2010 playing mostly 6D & 8D (part time once a week).
NJ, CT, & PA all have very profitable games.

One of the problems with DD is the temptation to overstay your welcome.
I play DD only when I visit Las Vegas, and I know how addictive it can be.
The exhilaration comes from seeing what you expect.
When you expect a ten for a double down, or a ten for the dealer to bust, a ten reliably comes out and doesn’t betray the count.
A full table at a 6D is too crowded, so a full table at a DD is worse.

Several thoughts here.

1. Although you may fit into their profile of desirable players, your frequent play may cause them to wonder and pay more attention to your play.

2. You better have a "good" method of concealing some or most of your wins. Every casino will have a choke point where they do not want your action anymore, even if they can't "prove" you are an AP.

3. DD games are notoriously used as easy places to identify counters. Bet spreads and index plays are major tips offs.

4. Only one table and frequently too full could be a big ev problem.

5. With only one table, I'm sure surveillance is tuned in most times. So even if the PC isn't kepping an eye on you, I'm sure the EITS is checking you out.

6. Keep your sessions short. 1 hour may be too long per shift if you are there frequently.


I prefer DD over 6D too but it usually makes the most sense to play these games in areas where there are numerous tables with less crowded conditions. You can hit and run or run and hide, whatever the case may be.
